  1. Tweety birds are telling me that theres a few new beers to be seen at 3 Valleys this year Andy ---------- Post added 02-06-2015 at 21:55 ---------- Jolly Farmer are to announce their beer list tomorrow too
  2. Used to go up from Bradway with Tiffer and Gwill..
  3. I use Brewmart from time to time, the lady that you talk about is fine and dandy with me, she knows nowt about homebrew though. Saying that, I only buy the odd packet of yeast or refill of gas Ths shop could be brilliant with someone behind the counter that has brewed or brews. If you want brilliant customer service from someone who knows what he is talking about then go to Doncaster, Alan Spree is a mine of info about brewing, his wines are brilliant and available for sampling along with really good beer.
  4. I like your style Bookworm. There is a gap for this. I brew All Grain and have done for a few years. The Pale malt and common hops I get direct from Brewery supplies but things like Cascade, Nelson, Citra and the like are a little difficult. You say you are stocksbridge market, when is this open, I will drop in and see what you have
  5. Abbeydale are good. I like the stuff from Sheffield Brewery co. Bradfield, brown cow and Farmers blonde are excellent. Have you tried the 3 valleys IPA or Full Monty from Barlow??
  6. I saw the millhouses hotel with shutters up too, such a shame as this was brilliant in its day
  7. 29th April -1st May at Hilltop club, free entry, all local beers from Sheffield and North East Derbyshire, £2.20 per pint ( to be confirmed), entertainment, Barlow Proms will be there on the Friday to celebrate the Royal Wedding ( best of British), Sunday is the popular folk band "Scuppered", Dronfields got talent on the Monday with some sort of street party.( saturday is a combined day with the saturdaynighters presenting a showband) so may need to charge for the saturday night. If its on during the day Saturday will be showing the match Barnsley v sheffield United 15 breweries bringing their best wares and different style ales, cider from Derbyshire. Food will be served ( easy to eat burgers, hotdogs and the like) Watch out for the notices soon to be put up around Dronfield for more details
  8. I have lived here for the last 4 years and love it. Just down a bit from Hill top, brilliant neighbours, community spirit, excellent transport to Sheffield and Chesterfield on the edge of the Peak district, good resturants and bars with a relaxed lifestyle. We moved from oop north to be closer to family and for the schools (which are in a league of their own). There is always something going on (am dram, music festivals, and it has it's first Beer Festival 29th April to 1st May). I would suggest to anyone looking to move to Dronfield that you only get out of a place what you put in...
  9. Me and a mate had 3 photos on the wall for years. Used to go quite a bit during the "mating season"
  10. that will be the 3rd time someone has suggested this curry house to me. I must give it a go
  11. Heres one for you, Prospect Place in Bradway. Only road in Sheffied that you canot get out of 1st gear going up.
  12. I went a couple of months back and was dissappointed at the starter. It was seriously overcooked.
  13. Dronfield is brill, good schools, new train link to Sheffield. Good pubs and resturants and on the doorstep of the Peak District.
