  1. Has anyone eaten there recently? I`m considering giving it a go, probably for a Sunday lunch, but we`d like fish preferrably. Their web site says prices but no menus. I understand that the beer there is good. And do they have outdoor tables? Cheers!
  2. The indoor skate park near to the ski slope! The displays outside are amazing!
  3. Any good ones where they have a good (real) pint and decent TVs? Or on Eccy / Chesterfield Road at a push. Ta!
  4. Good - we like Ethio-Cubana on Arundel Gate, Kum-quat-mae, Inter Siam on LDN Rd., Coach and Horses in Dronfield, BB`s, and Dilshad`s on Chesterfield Road. Bad - Italians in Woodseats, Everest in Heeley, Leoni`s (?) in Town, Que Pasa and Nirmal`s on West st., and most over-priced pub food!!!
  5. Any good? Is that Turkish? Owt for vegies?
  6. Interesting review pete jim. The only thing I`d say is that I`d hope that they don`t `buy in` many of their fish. I`ll give it another go at some stage.
  7. Defo the ethio-cuban one on Arundel Gate. Cheap, tasty and really well hosted.
  8. You must start eating tofu. It doesn`t really taste of anything, rather it takes in the flavours that you give it, and it`s pretty good for you too. I`m sure they`ll do noodley veg stuff but there`s no guarantee that they won`t add chicken or fish stock.
  9. We quite liked it. Thought that the drinks were very expensive but the food was good and fairly priced. The service was excellent when we went on a Sunday but it was very quiet.
  10. In their favour, you shouldn`t have eaten it. However, that is terrible! I went once and said one word to my wife - `patak`s` and the veg looked processed to me. It`s not good enough and there are plenty of quality curry houses out there. They give the trade a bad name! Take it to trading standards - ? Citizen`s advice might help - ? I`d mention it to the cops too tbh - !? Keep an eye out for threads on here and tell people about your experiences when people ask for restaurant recommendations or Everest is mentioned. A lot of `foodies` take note of stuff on here; word of mouth is the best publicity. Dilshad`s in Woodseats is quite good nearby further up Chesterfield road.
  11. Is there anywhere in Sheff that does this cuisine? Vadas, dosas and the like. Had a great one in Stoke and would like to be able to get the same stuff but closer to home.
  12. There ain`t many Thornbridge brewery pubs so I must give it a try. Jaipur is a winner but way stronger than what I`d usually go for. I like the Kipling that I had at Coach and Horses in Dronfield best.
  13. Have they stopped doing foi gras (sp?) ? There was a boycott of it a while back I believe.
  14. True. And it`s the same kinda thing in Egypt - dips, flatbreads, etc.
  15. Fair enough! Might give it another chance. What`s the menu like now?
  16. If it`s outdoors, it`s ok still, surely . . .?
  17. Where can I buy their stuff in Sheff?
  18. Interesting. I don`t see the point of a boutique hotel in the country-side. I preferred it as a place that wet walkers could go in for a hearty meal and a comfy seat by the fire. Last time I went, I thought that the room on the right as you go in was horrible. They`ve still got real beer, I hope?
  19. It`s on the junction of Abbeydale and Woodseats roads. It`s quite good. Nice, hearty food but better if you are a meat lover. (I`m not). Worth a go!
  20. For me, in no real order:- Kum Quat Mae - top veggie stuff Ethio-Cuban - top value and friendly service. A bit different. Coach and Horses - Dronfield. Lovely pub food, nice.
  21. Went today. They don`t do the Sunday lunch deal advertised on their website. I had salmon with fennel and beetroot as a starter and my wife had mackerel pate with onion jam. Both really, really good. Then I had Bream with pesto and mash plus a side salad. Lovely, very light. My wife had mussels which were ok if a bit bland sauce-wise. Great place with pleasing service. My only real gripe comes with the booze, which I think was mentioned on another thread. When we arrived, we were shown to the bar for a drink which is fine but the restaurant was less than half full and the drinks we had were VERY expensive. My diet coke was £2.50 or maybe even £2.75 and my wife`s wine and soda was £5. We had a half bottle of house wine with the food which was a bit poor. Cost £58 for two. I`d go again on a `meal deal` or a special occasion.
  22. Anyone know anywhere that does them now the weather`s good?! Does Shiraz on Abbeydale road do them?
