  1. Hi Dido I was sorry to hear about Robert so please pass on my regards, which I realise is very awkward when you don't know who I am so I have sent you a pm.
  2. Hi Dommi I can remember Robert Swallow as I swam against him in a few competitions along with a lad called Brian Mouldicliffe (don't know about the spelling). A relative of Brians used to take the 3 of us to Sutherland Road baths most evenings, a chap called Joe Boot, he also took Brian and myself fishing on Sundays along with half of Sheffield on the train to Lincolnshire. I get in the Legion about 21-30 on Fridays but if you want to go before then just let me know.
  3. Hi Cat thats good to know, is Tom coming on our walk with us, please pass on my regards.
  4. Dommi hows about making an effort and walking down to the Legion tonight for a small drink I'm sure Eddy will be in also.
  5. Hi all i don't know if it will effect car parking but an antiques fair is being held at the centre on Sunday.
  6. Hi jeano sure it was Don Collins, I can still hear his cry when he arrived on the street, or in my case road. Dommi have you still got the little imp on your arm???????????.
  7. Hi cat yes all good electricians had daughters some just had more than others. I did not know that Astro was your daughter, but now I do just think of the tales I could tell her like the time you fell asleep on the late bus when going home from Paulenes and finished up down at Greenland Road bus garage. Did I get on that bus at Firth Park and see you, ????????????????? mind you for the price of a pint at the next reunion my silence could be bought.
  8. Thanks all for a good day out.
  9. Hi cruiser Margaret my good lady met your mum at a shop in Chapeltown or as some people say Burncross. Must say she as not changed at all.
  10. hi Dommi tried not to mention meeting in the toilets, thought it could blemish our perfect reputations. But I must say that I used to drink a gallon and pee a pint, now it's drink a pint and pee a gallon.
  11. Hi yet another good day out, thanks to all.
  12. scoobz I will be coming and if anyone needs a lift let me know.
  13. Dommi I think you live quite close to me and the last time we met was in meadowhall car park. Also cat has guessed your name.
  14. Dommi you must have been in the same class as cat and me to know such bright and intelligent people.
  15. Hello Gaye as a child many years ago, I can recall going to the Clarion Club House with my parents. My father played cricket and i'm quite sure the club house was used as a changing room for the players as the cricket pitch was adjacent to the club, but I could be wrong.
  16. Hi cat if you have a walk up cut-gate let me know if you want company, but I can't make this week or any Tuesday.
  17. Hi scoobz and all I don't know if I have met Feargal or not, but your comments were absolutely magnificent, it takes a tremendous amount of courage and even more, loads of commitment to lead anything especially a group of unknown walkers. These words are not said out of any form of sentiment but from a vast amount of experience, its always easy to follow very hard to lead. I also must thank you for taking the time to come and talk to Margaret (Mrs Alligin) and the story you told us, we can't stop laughing, you lightened a sad time for us. Respect is earned, it does not just come along. I'm sorry if this sounds too serious but it is difficult to lead and should be appreciated, it dosn't all happen on the day of the walk. See you all next Sunday
  18. Hi skippy was that teacher in the photo Bill Bradshaw as he was my teacher also, i can remember him having a struggle with a girl (at that time) called Doris who sat next to cat at school. Although it looked very funny nobody made a sound we all just sat very quiet.
  19. Hi Abagnall the maps I have are not the latest editions but you can sure find your way round with them. If you borrow them and they finnish up like pulp so what things happen, plus I can't see me using them for some time if ever.
  20. Hi cat no I can't remember that but of course you can go back further than me............ well at least 5 months. How is Roy, it would have been good to see him again.
  21. Hi Cat the chap in the photo is Gordon, I have printed off A4 pictures for the three of them. I have known Gordon for many years but never knew he was from Grimesthorpe he also lives quite close to me. Its the same with Mick Buck, we have sat in the same room in the legion for quite a time especially on a Sunday evening, neither of us knowing we were from the same area, but as DavidRa said Grimesthorpe people have all emigrated to Chapeltown and the Legion club.
  22. Hello all and especially CAT thanks Cat for putting the photo's onto the forum and your PM, I will see Joanne on Saturday and will pass on your condolances. I will take the photo of you and George to show her, lets face it it's good for a laugh anytime. many thanks bud
  23. Hi abagnall I have 2 outdoor leisure maps of Snowdonia numbers 17 and 18 you can borrow if you want, also if you are going south numbers 11 and 13 covering the central and eastern area's of the Brecon Beacons.
  24. Hi Walt thanks for the information that you sent to me, but I met Hindy last night who said that he was an expert with using photobucket, so I gave him a disc and he is going to put the pictures onto the forum. He said leave it all in my capable hands, well thats what I heard????????????.
  25. hello Cat I have downloaded the photo's and saved them to a disc, I have also printed off a few A4 prints one of which is for Hindy, I'm sure he will like it. When you say that I will be posting them soon, I presume you mean the disc through your letter box if you are out when I call at your house, as I have no idea how to perform such a complicated task as to putting photo's onto this site. If anyone wants a disc of the photo's just leave a message i'm sure I will get it to you some how. I can only say the same as Cat thanks for a great evening.
