  1. Went past Shhhh... last night, fair few police around, did it kick off in there?
  2. I really like Evie also, short and sweet, but not sure about Maddison- it's the american thing that I'm not to sure of and it can be shortened to Mad! (then again who am I to talk my babies middle name is taken from a Greek godess!) I found it so hard to choose names for Digibaby, we picked a boys name almost immediately (Finlay or Finn) but as sods law would dictate our baby is a girl. (oh! I don't mean that we didn't want a girl!) Anyway we eventually chose Summer, then after about 6 or 7 months (in the womb) of calling her summer, bloody Eastenders picked the name for Dawns baby and I was devastated! We tried to come up with another name but couldn't agree on anything else so we stuck to our guns and named her - Summer Athena. That makes her initials SAK by the way but it could be worse as I once new an ARS!
  3. cheers for that, yes she is my first baby. I have my first health visitor visit in a couple of weeks, so will get more details of things then. I'm in a different area by the sounds of it, so only time will tell how useful or crap they will be! The aquaaerobics sounds good, just need to find out when I am alowed to start excersizing.
  4. With the fact that I had an emergency C-section and that breast feeding just didn't work out for us, I probably have to deal with the fact that it is gonna be bloody hard if not impossible to lose my pregnancy weight. (I put on 3 stone!) Fingers crossed!
  5. Hi, Digi baby is now almost 1 month old, and I was wondering if there were any mother and baby groups I could join locally? I would also be interested in any swimming or excersize groups that I/we could join bareing in mind that I had a c-section and have been told that I have to wait anything between 8 weeks and 6 months to take up proper excersize depending on who you listen to- I am confused! I desperately need info as I am still huge and to be honest am getting a bit depressed about it.
  6. Well its 20 days after giving birth to Digibaby by c-section, and I still look at least 6 months pregnant! I did get very large and put on 3 stone, so think it's gonna be a while yet! (looking at the loose skin on my belly, I doubt it will ever be back to normal!)
  7. Maybe there is a lesson here, but doesn't Zowie Bowie now use the name Jo?
  8. Would the council be able to give you the info?
  9. just seen another thread, inexpensive wedding venue hilsborough area. If your interested?
  10. Hi, If they aren't replying to your emails etc I would seriously look at changing your organisers. Have you paid them any money? If so who did you book them through? Is there anything they can do? I realise that you have probably spent good money on this company so far, but if they are treating you like this at such an early stage, would it not be better to cut all ties and start again? I have just realised that my post sounds so negative, but you have a year to sort this out, don't panic- that is ages, and at least you have realised sooner rather than later that these people don't seem to be reliable! Anyway, haven't been, but everyone that has says that Cyprus is amazing! I am sure your wedding will be wonderful.
  11. :love:We were going to get married in Greece. (Lindos on Rhodes-the best place on earth!) but decided that many people could not afford to come, and did we really want friends and family on the honeymoon! As far as I know all of the legal paperwork needs sorting out in old Blighty-reading of the banns / proving that you are both elligable for marriage / that you actually know each other etc! needs to be sorted at the registry office/ town hall. When we looked into it, it became apparent that it was FAR cheaper, and more tasteful to book things seperately but you probably need some local knowledge or contacts. But,..... having our wedding in this country last year was far more expensive than any wedding package deal! Anyway, good luck- hope it's the right thing for you. (let us know where you decide to go.)
  12. My baby girl who was born 16 days ago, caused chaos until the day she was born, toilet every 5 mins, tiredness like you have never known, still moved around like a kick boxer! (loving my ribs all the way through!) A few days before my waters broke I felt rough, I think my husband posted a thread, but I just felt sick and generally rough. Like you I was HUGE! hot food did not work, though when my waters finally broke(8 days late) we had just picked up a chinese and had a glass of champagne! maybe that's the secret?
  13. I'm pleased to hear that, send them my wishes. I went through a similar experience to beeanddanny.I fully intended to breast feed for at least 6 months, I also fully intended to go through labour using just gas and air and have a water birth. (the best laid plans, and all that!) I endured 46 hour of labour without dialating any further than 4 inches, they tried everything and I was eventually told that an emergency C-section was the only option.(this took 5 minutes! and the doctors etc were fantastic) The knock on effect of that, apart from the obvious discomfort, was that my milk would not kick in. After 5 days of trying (sometimes on the hour, every hour) my baby was developing jaundice failng to latch on properly and losing weight through lack of feed. I felt like **** (and in pain whenever we tried to feed), and having slept for aprox 10 hours in an 8 day period We decided that it would be best all round for us to switch to formula. We had to ask and ask for someone to bring formula to feed our baby, and had to endure a lecture each time we did. (believe me I did understand the implications and was feeling bad enough as it was) When we were finally given the formula it was thrust into my hand and we were left to it, no help with how to feed or how much to give etc -we had clearly let them down. Anyway it is now day 16, back at home and my daughter is fighting fit, no jaundice, feeding every four hours putting on weight (8lb 14) and I have regained my sanity! Can't really argue with that can you?
  14. :rolleyes:Oops! done it again, sent the above message with my husbands login!
  15. bl**dy hell DJ, give em a chance! They haven't rejected you in the past have they? As for "terrible music" I'd say its pretty varied, so it all boils down to personal taste. As for employing good DJs, as far as I know with it being community based, none of the DJs on Sheffield Live are paid and give their time for free. (I could be wrong?) so does this constitute "employment"? Anyway step away from the handbag!
