  1. Fascinating! I look forward to hearing the outcome of this
  2. Look For St George's Church on Mappin street just off broad lane. The nest box is facing Broad lane and you can see it from the grounds of St George's.
  3. Agreed! I've used these a number of times and they're first class!
  4. This the time of year when foxes force last years Cubs to move on to find their own territory and the new breeding season starts
  5. You're very lucky! I've not seen any hedgehogs for about 5 years now.
  6. I've had a very simliar experience! Bought a trail camera in July of this year and it filmed various foxes which I knew we had. But it also filmed a badger which I wasn't expecting at all. We also get the odd tawny owl too. Oh, and I live near Barnsley road.
  7. So it's just the one juvenile that you've seen?
  8. I had loads in my garden but there was about 20 plus swallows flying above my house picking them off as flew away
  9. I went to the Tikka Tikka on Castle rd around 2012 and it was one of the best meals I've had from an Indian restaurant. Well worth trying: http://www.tikkatikka.org/
  10. Just walking in to Tesco's on spital hill when I saw two peregrines fly over. One was calling so I'm presuming one or both are juveniles. They looked to be heading towards the incinerator at Attercliffe.
  11. I've been to St. George's this morning and both chics were present on the tower. One was on the perch and the other one was on one of the spires. Adult female appeared at about 12.05 and landed on the ledge near the chics. Then flew away about 5mins later. Both chics left individually 5 mins later and about 5 mins apart. All birds headed towards the North campus.
  12. Quick update: I'm at St George's and one of the chics was fed at the church tower at about 3.40pm. This chic then flew off at about 3.55 towards the flats on netherphorpe rd. The female then flew away with a carcass at about 4pm. About 5mins later someone told me they'd seen The female feeding a chic on the flats near Tesco on Edward St near the North campus.
  13. If you haven't read it already I suggest you check out the latest Sheff peregrine blog post. It's facinating whats gone on off screen! The pictures are great too! Also a big thank you to one of the local residents (Steve Beer) who spent the night in the grounds of the church looking after one of the chics that had landed on the ground. He stayed with it all night until someone from the university came to take it back up the church tower in the morning. Well done mate! https://sheffieldperegrines.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/testing-times/comment-page-1/#comment-1703
  14. I went up to St George's yesterday teatime (4.30pm till 6.30pm) And I could only see the one chic who was on the 2nd ledge above the clock of the church tower. While I was there the female made two attempts to feed it by bringing food to the ledge above the clock but the chic wouldn't come down to feed (see attached picture/link). I also had a walk around the north campus and surrounding flats looking for the other chic but I didn't see anything. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y4zxucm63d8pft0/peregirnes_complete.jpg?dl=0
  15. Chic no2 was fed in the scrape about 8.45 this morning. Female is now perched on the 2nd camera with the male behind her on the ledge.
