  1. I got another item delivered yesterday from eBay. http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/rr34/bravo_2_zero/10e39eed3539cc9bab95a4c62d87cd8a.jpg At very best it was the size of a regular shoe box and weighed nothing and was. £8 !!!!!! Usually things like this cost about £2.35. It was an army jacket which I buy and sell and I sold 8 last month and the dearest was £4 and way bigger and heavier packed than this I got yesterday.
  2. I get them daily but that's due To handling PVC.
  3. Yep , I bought 2 items 2 identical ones. One turned up last Saturday postage cost £4.75, the other turned up today £8.00. These were the prices printed on the large golden stamp. Identical items in every way , even down to the packets. Making me not eBay anymore at the price hikes.
  4. #playstation games sold from bread boxes on moor #fake fila shirts sold in the hole in the road Coppers leg it !!
  5. Get a post on here down in jobs section. Either buy your own bits like I did so you know what's going on or get them to supply and fit. The actual mechanics of the job is easy its just the dicking about getting to the belt that takes the time.
  6. Not just forumers, I bought a car from a dealers with a full 12 month MOT done the day before. I nearly ploughed it into a tree a day later taking it for a run, IT HAD NO pads in the front just 3/4 worn metal plates that USE to be pads !! I had suspicions the MOT was fraudulent after that But that was from a forecourt dealer.
  7. Just remember to remove the lid from the fluid reservoir when you push the piston back in.
  8. Yeah they need winding in. Not a hard job at all. I did all four wheels in under and hour. Just remember these winders are either left or right winding so you need 2 unless you make your own. I have inherited a home made one that works both sides one tool.
  9. Costly ??? I paid £60 for a mk5 belt, pulleys and water pump change. I bought the kit myself £110 ( continental ) and took it to a guy back of Mansell school S5. I'd have done it myself but it was like £30 for the locking tool so for an extra £30 its not worth the stress. I know if you want to do it yourself its not too much of a hard job. The actual belt only fitting with locking tool is a 20min job, its all the unbolting of engine tray and wheel arches plastic that takes the time.
  10. There's some nice hillbilly ghetto mods on YouTube where mullet toting Americans make air ducting from galvanised drainage pipes and boxes. All the parts you need to make ducting can very easy be bought from wicks or B&Q for pennies at the side of a car mod shop prices. The ducting is about £3-5 , couple of jubilee clips and some silver alloy tape. Yes I went fancy and laid out £6 on 2 ready made 65mm to 120mm inlets and £3.99 on a fog lamp grill with a pre cut hole for a fog lamp. That was cheaper than buying a £11.99 65mm hole cutter. Now bit of advice well warning I forgot to mention. I fitted the induction quiet easy , took 10mins tops. Now the pictures I posted are my mk2 design due to mk1 failing. I used the k&n kit solely when I bought it and toddling down A1 disaster happened, loss of power on huge massive night time black smoke out of the rear of the car. I found out the induction ducting had failed and sucked itself flat !!!!!! The quick fix was removal of the airbox lid until I gathered some replacement parts as seen in the pictures.
  11. You can build your own for next to nothing. I paid less than a tenner for the pipe system. I paid £6 for the trumpets a pair and £3.99 for the fog light housing. http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/rr34/bravo_2_zero/578D3860-268A-4C11-BBA1-A6AC6FB0F9AD-1471-0000014CFCBC42BF.jpg Now I got the whole kit , airbox and filter from eBay for £65 buy now 2 weeks ago new boxed. It was a project gone wrong or something. The systems are on eBay and you can pick up CDA carbon copies for about £35. http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/rr34/bravo_2_zero/748B53B1-4EFB-45AD-AA61-3AAEECAEBF29-1471-0000014D08816D79.jpg Now you only get the woosh with the open system ie. with airbox lid off.
  12. Someone been putting them on sale section here past couple of days for fords. I have one in my golf , full induction 57s and the airbox 9501 and they sound sweet. They cost £100's though £285 just for the airbox never mind the filter !!!!!
  13. Eh driving too close ? How , how could you give a guy enough room when he simply kept stopping. The distance I kept giving him was quickly gobbled back up on the very next corner !! Other than stopping in a lay by and giving him a good hour or so to wee off what would you have done ? You anticipate a gradual slow down yeah around corner and at speed limits common sense really, when someone for whatever reason dead stops to zero then I'm sorry how can anyone avoid situations like that without getting too close without trying !
  14. Put in his paper and get him off to Afghanistan. He'll not what to go nowhere without you after that !
  15. We went to skeggy few years ago via the old way back of Lincoln to the toll bridge. We were following a jaguar car and boy oh boy was that an experience. The road is 60mph up to Durham bridge when it drops to 30mph. Well he was going 30 all the way and at the corners doing 10mph. When the road said slow ( you know the painted SLOW on the road ) he put his brakes on full !! So we gets up to Durham and we meet the 30mph sign , at this point I'd coast the car and gently slow to 30. Well this joker by this time was doing 50 and to the millimetre on the sign he braked and stopped then set off back off at 30 !!! I nearly nearly rear ended him and swerved into the other lane to avoid an collision. I got to the toll booth, threw the 60p at the man in the cab office and flawed the car past this idiot in the jag. Swear to god he was making me wanting to pull over and cry because it was such a scary drive behind him, so unpredictable.
  16. 4 ways 1, phone shop 2, greavy sim from amazon 3, jailbreak install ultrasn0w 4, get a one month sim on the phones provider, ring them up after 30 days and then they will unlock for a very small fee. I know with 3 its £15. Works and tried and tested with an iPhone 5 on three now unlocked, phone shop was going to chargé £120 plus a 2 week wait. Best bet ring up the provider see what they say then get a 30 day sim , pay the unlock fee and job done.
  17. Yeah defrag the SSD, when I say defrag I want to sort out the files because although the hard disk was 55% free ( I have 120gb OCZ ) it was chugging a little because how it structured the data. I was copying and pasting films files on there to convert and it was placing them in multiple locations rather then in one location. I have idefrag but it refuses to defrag an SSD, so the only way in a round about way to defrag is to reinstall from a time machine back up. Now as for time machine back up intervals , I have not seen an option other then OFF/ON and NOW. I find it tends to kick in when doing things oddly. Now I can't say MAC wise how a stock unit acts because this things been modded right out the box. The SSD immensely speeds up these units. It cut down the convention time using roxio toast from over an hour to as little as 15mins including the re-encoding to PAL. So the time machine may not have the effects is can put on a system when using a regular HDD. The machine I run has custom firmware , 3gb ram from 512mb, c2d 2ghtz from one core 1.6ghtz and a bluray internal RW slot load and the SSD OCZ 3 120gb trim enabled.
  18. I do and I find it annoying at times and more so when your converting and it kicks in. Good thing is you can use it to defrag your hard disk. I reinstall OSX then choose back up from time machine and say 20 mins if that ( run SSD ) its reinstalled and everything in order on the hard disk better. Now it may depend on what you run as the time machine. I run an Iomega minimax 1tb I got from America £50 direct from Iomega refurbishing. Now that runs on FireWire @ FW400 which is better than the USB 2 option. FireWire vs USB , FireWire wins every time because its run by hardware rather than CPU dependant USB 2. FireWire you get 100% of the speed 100% of the time where as USB requires CPU power , so if your converting it will lag things down.
  19. Are you trying to play mp3 cd's or converted music ? I know ( I have one ) VW cars come with either a MP3 player or not, they are identical to each other except one says mp3 in right tiny letters. Now for the cd , make sure you close the cd , finalise it. Some CD's don't work as good as others. I bought some Asda DVD disks and had a batch of 10 that wouldn't work in anything too. I bought 30 and 10 just refused to read even the player that burned them. Try different media and make sure disks are finalised.
  20. Are the people who deliver post working today in sheffield ? I hear we have strikes ??? First I heard ???
  21. Whatever it is , I wouldn't like 1.3tonn of German engineering sat in my backseat.
  22. It's dangerous trust me. If your on a national speed road single track and your doing say 25mph and a car is legally doing 60mph and suddenly meets you in the back end. The stopping time for that car to bring himself to meet your 25 maybe enough to cause an accident.
  23. Worst bit is Woolley wood bottom ( runs side of M1 jk34-35 northbound ), the road is clearly marked national speed (60) with big signs and repeaters but folk still toddle on there at 20mph. I don't mind a wind down from fast roads from doing an hours drive at +60mph (a1-m1) but 20mph on a 60 is downright stupid ! Also like to add I've found no matter your speed you still hold people up even if yourself is speeding. I've overtaken vehicles plus 80mph only to be overtaken by a dozen vehicles making my 80 look like 30 !!!!! It's usually women in people carriers with kids in that's the scary thing too ! They seem scared to drive on an open road and toddle along, they require to be up someone's backside and sit there about 3ft away and I don't think they know any different. I don't know how people can drive like that honestly. I'd rather sit cruse control on @65mph on a1 rather than hopping from someone's backend to another.
  24. Cheers , think there is a road and rally local too if not ..... Halfords
