  1. A deadly virus for a small proportion of the population - combined with initial panic and then a complicated mixture of under and over reaction by a confused public and useless government - has in the space of 12 months - completely and irreversibly done for us. I fully expect things to get much worse from here.
  2. I rejoined last week under a new username after a previous ban for reasons unknown - I’m glad I did - it seems much quieter but maybe people rejoining will perk things up a bit.
  3. I understand the idea about people being offended by swearing in certain contexts, I understand why people would not expect to see it on uni adverts. the fact is it’s obviously there by accident, it’s by no means prominent on the poster-you have to look for it. It’s not directed at anyone. why would anyone be offended by it?
  4. There’s no obscene language being used as such - there’s two paragraphs of writing about helping disadvantaged young people and a picture of a smiling person. if you look really hard you can make out 4 Tiny letters on a baseball cap which form a swear word. it’s not ideal - it certainly wouldn’t have been intentional - but what is there to be offended about?
  5. Why - how is it offensive to you? what makes it more so because of in being linked to a place of learning?
  6. Not overly bothered about what Biden does here on in - it will always be better than than the madness that was Donald trump.
  7. I would agree but unfortunately there’s not a lot many places left to spend your money.
  8. Absolutely - it’s become a form of attention seeking for many. look at me I’m offended!
  9. I think Meadowhall will be fine for all the reasons it was successful before. large variety of shops in an great location with security, free parking, tram, bus and rail links. It’s the city centre that is in real trouble in terms of retail for me.
  10. I was on this forum for years - loved it. It went through a period 12-18months ago where the level of moderation was ridiculous, constant deletion of posts and suspensions and bans, not just for me but others. I signed up again today and it’s like a wasteland compared to what it used to be - there’s no real debates going on. I understand the need for moderation but I think that’s what damaged the forum In the past.
  11. That’s the crown and I believe it’s still open (bar Covid restrictions). David Layne (ex Wednesday) had it for years.
  12. I will be voting for the committee model. think it will really help the city going forward and hopefully focus everyone on improving things rather than political squabbling.
