  1. Full service history is always a good selling point with any car. I personally wont except anything less. Full service history is a sign it's been looked after. Some people think washing it on a Sunday morning fulfills this. Also people tend to up selling points like "Part service history" :loopy: full VOSA (Now DVSA) history, What the hell is that :suspect: don't all cars have DVSA history after 3 years old? Anyway, no, I don't think you will have any problems selling it private, might get a few tyre kickers along the way though. :hihi:

I have always serviced my own cars and I know that they are done with no stone unturned, Engine oil is changed every 5000 miles or six months whichever comes first , this is not replicated in the service manual but i keep all invoices for parts etc.

Some garages inc main dealers call changing the oil and filter then stamping the book a service , as service it is not.

  2. well if was for the council and some idiot left their van on double yellows blocking the road for half an hour then yes. in a private car park no.

What if that vehicle belonged to the council or indeed the parking wardens.

Oh wait a minute they are just doing their job aren't they .

Just the same as builders , plumbers, delivery drivers, home helps, and so on but all these get tickets on a daily basis.

In one instance that we know about a bloke who owns a large shop on Infirmary road parks his sports car in the one hour stay bay all day .

We got a ticket for over staying and when we pointed this out to the two women wardens they replied that they know he does but can't do any thing with him .

Double standards are rife in Sheffield council parking department.

  3. good example, go to Harrolds locksmiths, they have a big car park you can use, but , some people get caught out, on the end of shepherd st next to shop is clearway, but for a few yards there are no yellow lines , no signs saying you cant park here,, ive seen traffic wardens lurking there just for a victim , and it is a regular spot for them,

As is Middlewood Road when there is a match on .

They appear like ghosts in the night when the match is on and very quickly disappear before it ends .

  4. I got done by the parking gestapo last weekend when I parked on a leafy side road in Hillsborough. It was a residential street, but I did actually get out of the car and check for written signage as usual (residents parking only/ no parking between certain hours etc) on lamp posts and whatever, and there were none. No yellow lines or anything.

I only parked up for ten minutes (max) and got back to a £70 ticket. Apparently there was one of the clearway motifs (although no written signage) that I'd missed (hardly difficult when it doesn't face the road). I wasn't blocking the main road whatsoever.

My very seldom used repertoire of most foul language came in pretty useful when I caught up with the smirking duo of fine-givers after they called me an idiot for not seeing the sign in the first place. They even admitted it was not easy to see (whilst still smirking)!

Why don't they just paint double yellows on the road like anywhere else?

Cash cow for the Council. Avoid Hillsborough shops.

Bang on, the reason they do not paint double yellows is because people would see clearly that it is illegal to park and they would not get the rip of fines that the obscure little signs get for them .

They tell me that they have to put these signs on tram routes because a Government dept decrees it but fail to explain why they have not done this on Holme Lane .

The 24 hour clearways were put in when Supertram was constructed at the insistence of Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate (HMRI), who are the regulatory body for railways in the UK.

Manchester's tram system predated ours and they used double yellow lines to protect the route and junctions along it. However, there had been problems with vehicles still parking on the double yellows up the side streets, obstructing larger vehicles turning in off the main roads and resulting in delays to the trams.

HMRI required Sheffield to use the 24 hour clearways because they are the most effective waiting restriction available as they forbid stopping for any reason, even stopping to set down or pick up passengers is forbidden.

They have been in for over 20 years, so local drivers have had plenty of time to get used to them.

Councils never, ever put in a restriction to "fool unwitting drivers". They are there for very good reasons, which are often safety related. I have worked in this field for enough years to know that this is absolutely true.

For the umpteenth time why are they not on Holme Lane if that is your excuse for these cash cows.

  5. That's what ye do scrap out results win games however they go in tell ye guys you wouldn't be complaining if that goal took ye up would ye ?

I would take a scrappy in off three players for us to stay up anyday..

Just get behind your lot ok wasn't pretty last night but job was done.

cant play smooth entertaining brazillian style 5-0 games every game ye know lol..

The trouble is Mooks we have signed all these exciting players and we are all on the edge of our seats waiting for the charge of the light brigade and what do we get.

The same old tactics , play the ball across field then back into defence ,it looked O.K. last season when other teams were trying to get the ball of us but this they have all caught on and just let us get on with it .

I have noticed a slight change this season though as we are starting to lump the ball forward more in hope than plan .

I really think a change in system is needed with proper wingers feeding the talented forwards that we now have ,after all football is supposed to be entertainment and not a case of just stopping the opposition from scoring as is the case in most matches in the Championship.

  6. :hihi: Brilliant!

I think buying too many players has been the grease that has caused you to slip down the poll. :gag:

Tha must be drunk ,its thee who's been telling us lot:hihi: who actually watch the Owls how we are the best team in the second division and are nailed on for promotion , Now we are slipping down a greasy pole because we have signed some proper players with proven back grounds .

    Whatever next :help:

That's what I was saying earlier on in the season is that you seem to take one step forward then two back. Bristol City was a great opportunity to really take advantage of the slightly weaker teams in and around you. That was certainly two points lost.

But, you do now have the strongest team outside the PL and indeed will reach the top two by April. I hate to say it... but start ordering the Champaign and ice. As a Blade this is going to be a tough pill to swallow.

    A blade ?????:hihi:

  7. Blooming Eck!!!!!!!!!

Nobody said Owls were Boring did they??

Why are you presuming I meant Sheff Wed??

Have you got a phobia over how the owls perform??:hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

I suppose its a big stage on Sky to prove they are not to you!! When they play dangerous Wigan

Well I could not for the life of me tell you how United are performing because I have no interest in them:hihi:

  8. The big stink that has been caused by the Democratically elected Government in America banning Muslim visitors or immigrants from various Countries is no different from what has been happening in some of those Countries for decades.

Women have been banned from those Countries unless they wear head covering , that is fact , this ban effects millions of women World wide who are forced to dress in a certain fashion even though they may want to dress in Western clothes a style of dress that seems to be ok for the rulers and men folk in those Countries .

The Trump ban protests seem to be a little one sided to say the least .

  9. Thing is that within less than two weeks EU Donald tusk has even gotten to the point calling him a threat, no wonder people are looking that direction.

Many at protests worldwide and on forums are comparing DT with Hitler, if its true is not the issue but no wonder people are looking that direction.

Scientists are working overtime to save valuable data from global warming research DT has ordered to be removed using an executive order, it makes you wonder an insane mental person is in charge of nuclear weapons and what could happen.

I believe DT is a far greater risk at starting dangerous world wars than bush was in Iraq.

Humanity has gone to war many times, I believe DT is mentally insane and such people should not be given power over great armies. But it has happened many times in history that insane people got that power like Genghis khan, Mussolini, Hitler, joseph Stalin.

Many of the people who are allowed to vote don't look further than the golden arches and only think about themselves, totally unaware that history is repeating itself over and over again and another war will happen.

During election DT screamed, "lock her up, lock her up" loudly like some insane mental patient, what will happen when he gets into some conflict on an international level? He is crazy.

And what about the dementia facility closing down , any input ?

  10. It would be nice if some of the 2000 people who attended the Anti-Trump protest will attend, something tells me most won't be.

    Me as well.

    ---------- Post added 01-02-2017 at 14:03 ----------

Well it wouldn't surprise me if the turnout is low, but then this is the first I and I suspect many others not directly involved have heard about it.

And since the post doesn't even give a time...no-one has time to hang about all day in case a protest they might agree with just happens to occur

Part of this is media including fb groups like Sheffield Online, it just isn't sexy enough to report on (if you can call anything to do with Trump "sexy" that is) so they don't bother spreading the word.

The situation has been ongoing for months in the local media .

People seem more interested in what goes on in America than under their noses in this City.
