At eighteen most working lads are performing manual labour along side their colleges as well as serving in the forces.

I've seen him a few times this season and have to say he looks like he has grown and bulked a bit (in the millwall game) but he's not ready. Needs a season out on loan.

I remember watching Georgie Best play against the Owls at Hillsbro (I think Sam Ellis was at centre half), Georgie weighed around 8 stone wet through and was pithed but skipped around the Owls heavy brigade at will .

I have forgot how many goals he scored that match but will never forget him taking the Micky out of our much bigger lads.

David Hirst attended the match at Hillsbro on Wednesday , his first return since he packed in his job as an academy coach and hospitality host at the club.

He is at loggerheads with the team management because they seem to be ignoring his son George who has only had two on the bench appearances this season .

George is the best prospect we have had for years and is attracting interest from the premiership big hitters.

Some on these threads may point out that the club are bringing him on slowly so as to protect his development , my feeling is that some of the best players this Country has ever seen inc Best and Rooney where first team regulars long before the ripe old age of 18.

Use it or lose it seems to be the way ahead.

This weekend Pippa Middleton who is the sister of Kate who herself has married our future king gets married to some billionaire who will then be installed into the comedy club that is our Royal family.

The wedding is rumoured to be costing half a million quid and includes spitfire fly pasts , a fleet of Range rovers to ferry guests around and a marquee costing tens of thousands of pounds followed by a spread of salmon and cucumber sandwiches and a honeymoon in never never land.

I think Carlos has taken us as far as he can.

He has been able to sign the players who he believed would take us up, some of those have been injury prone and others have not performed( Rhodes for one) as expected.

The football this season (although effective) has been abysmal to watch at times unlike last season when it was magnificent .

The game plan against Huddersfield (especially away) was crap .

Reading between the lines he has not said that he wants to commit his long term future to the Owls and that seems strange when he could have signed a longer contract if the report that it was offered is to be believed .

I think that a change may now be in the offing although not one brought about by sacking him if he really wants to stay.

If he goes I hope that the chairman jumps on the 52 bus and knocks on Nigel Pearsons door and pleads with him to take the job as we need a manager who does not seek popularity with the players but one who they know is the boss and not to be messed with.

Thats my little bit any way.

I don't know why they never did redevelop that area I remember that area right at the very end when there were just a few houses left.

The park was the last thing to go.

I think it would make a lovely spot to live but with the right people in them

The right people were the very people who lived there before;)

The programme has concluded tonight .

No police or social workers have been sacked .

The young person worker who actually brought the abuse to the notice of the authorities has been made redundant , in other words she got the sack.

The lady police officer who was behind getting those men to court was taken of any further child abuse cases so she rescinded her post so as to be able to help the kids who had been abused get justice .

This thread was posted in the general discussions section and for the life of me I do not know how it got into an entertainment thread .

Plenty of blades who no one has heard off for years have suddenly shown their faces on this thread and that is pathetic .

We lost because the tac tics were wrong Huddersfield were the best side over both legs and I hope they win at Wembly and make Yorkshire proud.

We lost it in the first leg by sitting back and not trying to win that match , I said after that game that we would regret it and we have , the tactics were crap.

My private plate came with the car.

The car is worth around £900( soon to be exactly nowt if the diesel tax comes in) but the plate has been valued at £1200.

Im a real capitalist me , at this rate I will be riding around on a push bike wi private plates.

Judge Ian Pringle has decided that he may not jail a Oxford University student who stabbed her boy friend in a drug infused frenzy due to her having extraordinary talent and that a prison sentence

would damage her career.

Lavina Woodward met her boy friend on line and during a drink and drug fuelled row stabbed him with a bread knife also hitting him with a laptop and various other objects.

The judge said that she is an extraordinary able young lady and it would be a shame to ruin her career by what should be a jail sentence.

Today wasn't about entertainment it was a means to an end. Would you rather have entertained and lost?

The result was all important. That doesn't mean it will always have to be this way whatever the cost. Speaking personally, I'd hate that as much as you but the away leg of a play off semi? Get real!

We haven't lost yet, and been in or around the top 6 all season, so yes, i reso yes I feel up to now Carlos has got his tactics spot on.

We've come away 0-0 at half time, the pressure was on them to score, our objective was to not lose. 1st half a success.

If we lose the home leg then maybe not.

On a side note, if we get promoted will you be man enough to come on here and start a " I'm sorry Carlos you know what you're doing " thread

I go to Hillsbro every single game and to be honest the system this year (unlike last) has been effective but rubbish to watch and if Wednesday do go up (which i think they will ) then my congratulations to Carlos will be brilliant.

But today was crap , admit it.

Huddersfield aren't in the playoffs as a fluke, they've been a well organised and disciplined side all season, and possession has been their forte.

Our unbeaten run against them continues, we are now 2 wins away from the prem, 1 of those games is at home against a team we haven't lost to in 6,7,8? games.

Owls need to cast their minds back a few years and be grateful we had Milan step up.

Id love us to win promotion, but at the same time I have a supreme confidence in our Chairman anyway, would I take battling at the top end of the championship/lower end of the PL?

it wasnt entertainment it was a job, if we'd gone out to win and ended up being 2 nil down going in to the next match most people would be moaning?

I think that the purpose of all sport is to win ,and that means win or lose but not at all costs.

we have a Bush freestat T.V box that has suddenly decided to broad cast in black and white picture only . any info on how or what to rectify would be appreciated.

Well to me football is entertainment ,an entertainment that I pay beyond my means to watch .

And if you think that todays match was a good football and good entertainment then good luck to you because I think the match was crap and we were the biggest culprits .

So as Wednesdayite of some 60 odd years I will say that today we were crapp.

We don't need the arm chair expert from the other side to tell us lets stand up and admit it.

We have five attackers who most of the championship would give their right arm for and we utilised them today as extra defenders.

At the beginning of the season we were all playing hell because we were keeping the ball in our own half for long periods ,now!!! we are letting the opposition also play in our half and hoping for a long clearance to set our forwards in motion .

It is crap tactics and has made for a none event on national T.V.

Huddersfield must be praying that we use the same system on Wednesday as if we do they are the only team that can possibly score due to them actually trying to do so.
