  1. I have a "rolling chassis" i need rid of, its a rover 214 and i bought another and have used the old one as a donor for parts, so it no longer runs, but has a good engine. Does anyone have any idea which company will come and lift it away, do the correct paperwork, i have the log book, and maybe give me some beer tokens?
  2. Well, after hours of trying to do it myself with you tube guides, i gave up and took it to talk time on Abbeydale rd, took about 5 minutes to unlock and cost me £10. Very impressed with them.
  3. Thanks for the reply Ghozer, my mate got an upgrade from t-mobile, so he gave me this moby. I will ask him if he can contact them regarding an unlock code.
  4. Hi, i urgently need my galaxy s3 unlocked, does anyone know of any shops near hunters bar that could do it please.
  5. i passed millhouse park today, and a huge majority of it seemed to be occupied with this event, i was not aware that there was a charge to enter. i did notice a tent advertising a local cycle retailer, so i assume they paid to have a pitch, hence the council took a rent. In my younger days, when i had reason to visit local parks, i would have thought that the parks and playgrounds were public areas in what was provided for families to enjoy by the council, that was paid for by the older rates scheme, but more recently the council tax. Topped up by the recent introduction of pay and display in the parking area. So my point being, if i want to enjoy the park, in its whole entirety , do i have to pay to park, and pay to enter 2moro?.. I wonder if , and whether and "public" closure notice was needed, or applied for.
  6. does that mean that to enter millhouses park 2moro, i have to pay £6
  7. Am i missing something here? . if i buy a ticket to timbuktoo and there are 30 stops on the way, and i choose to get out of the train early, i.e at stop 20, surely that cant be right
  8. Hiya, is the air pump used to power a filter? or just to produce bubbles?. I would suspect you or the kids are overfeeding them, and uneaten food is clouding the water. Also you made no mention of a heater, platy's are tropical fish, and whilst they may thrive in a heated room in the summer, cold water is not ideal for them. Whilst i do not wish to sound critical of you, 12l tank is tiny, and if you have gravel, a stone or two, you are probably down to about 10 litres of water, i wish shops would stop selling them, i would not put a single goldfish in one. With such a small tank, and if you dont have a filter, possibly overfeeding, then the water will cloud up very rapidly indeed. Good luck, and if the kids enjoy the fish, perhaps consider a larger tank in the near future.
  9. And dont you just love to get your tuppence on everything parking related, a souvenir?? !! .. Why dont you get a hobby?
  10. Thank you for that comment, i feel the same way, when i initially submitted the thread, i was going to ask that planner1 made no comment, but that would have been unreasonable request. He/she has something to say on everything parking, and is so biased its untrue. Yet question who he/she works for is none of my business. One cocky , arrogant council employee in my opinion . Anyway , my lack of paying £36 only congests other streets even more, as i am a 1 minutes walk from a non permit parking place. I WILL NOT pay the fee and will continue to park where i do. £36 is totally unreasonable and whether Planner1 thinks it is or not, that is £36 stopping in my pocket.
  11. So Planner1, what exactly is you position within the department, you have so much to say and contribute on anything that has to do with parking etc, you give us figures which we can only assume are reasonably correct. never mind, you hide behind a keyboard and spout your stuff, i will use my own skills and use the information that is publicly available and get back with the correct information.
  12. But £36 does not cover the cost of the scheme, as a renewal is cheaper and therefore £36 must be an inflated price for the initial permit....So if i buy a permit at £36 for the first year, when i want to renew at the reduced rate, do i simply ask and pay for one, or are checks in place to ensure i am still valid to apply for a renewal, so if checks are in place, then the process is going to be basically the same, but it's cheaper. I do not have a problem with planner1, as i said earlier he makes good and well written points, though i dont agree with many of them. I assume he works in the dept as he always has something to comment on parking etc, and his footer states something like his views are his own and not his employers. One poster stated that he thought £36 was a bargain, much cheaper than he would have thought, obviously he does not have or consider the need to shell out for one. Ok, so the scheme needs financing , so we all pay an initial fee of £36, then reduced renewal fee's. We have wardens patrolling the areas, who all need to earn a salary. These wardens slap tickets on vehicles without a permit and that nets ( in my area) a £70 fine, reduced if paid early. They stick a fair few on, believe me , i see it. I suggest, reduce the cost of the permit, more people would be in a position to buy one. In turn we would need less costs to enforce the scheme.
  13. I guess you never read the OP , clearly stated he/she paid by cash. Doh!!
  14. Thanks for that info Cllr Rob, i shall keep my eyes on the web site etc. Dafoot got my drift, i do not object to the scheme , but i do object to the (in my opinion) the cost of the initial permit. I do not feel that £36 justifies reasonable process costs. Planner1, your views , whilst you usually put across well written good points, are always biased , and assuming you are employed in the department, always will be. As for your points about the average cost of fuel in a car being about £1600 , i am not average, and i doubt you are. My fuel cost is approx £1000 per year, yet i dont have a spare £36 for a permit. Like many people, i struggle very hard to run a vehicle legally, yet i do, and always have done. People who live on a very tight budget are equally entitled to run a car as those who are wealthy, as long as it is done legally. I hope the green party get their way and get the cost reduced, so that the permit scheme still functions as it should , and those who need a permit can afford one, without breaking the bank.
  15. As the title suggests, but no looking for a debate on why we need permit parking, but my objection is i live in the zone ( MY Choice ) , i pay road tax etc... Does anyone have any idea who i should approach with regards to petition as to abolish permit charges for genuine residents. Last time i looked a permit for my vehicle was £36 for the first year.. I feel this price totally exceeds reasonable process costs. where to i go to object?
  16. Thank you, i appreciate that. Never been robbed before, it really does make you feel sick!

  18. I see loads of florist delivery vans being driven by women
  19. Not heard the phrase for a while, but when the tv broke, or the kettle etc it was described as U.S. which means un serviceable. I have to be careful, but does that answer your question as to why the police did not turn out?
  20. What is the allowed time? ... i would imagine 2 hours, but how anyone can spend 1 hour 50 mins in aldi incredible. I accept as you have a disabled badge you have a disability, but i shop in the same store and i like aldi alot, but i can never spend more than half hour or so shopping in there. Anyway, just take the advice already offered on the 50 odd pages on this thread. IGNORE IT..
  21. i take your point, i was probably a little dismayed at the usual stupid replies on the forum. I dialled 101 initially when the bike was found, and 999 after the group of youth entered my back garden to collect the bike. still no show from the police.
  22. yes, i did dial 999, after i was pushed aside in my own back yard by a group of youths who were collecting the bike, nobody rang back or turned up. I give up, next time i see wrong behaviour , i shall just turn a blind eye, not worth the hassle. ---------- Post added 25-02-2014 at 21:09 ---------- why would they do that?
  23. I am really peeved, i see night after night on tv, repeat after repeat about police intercepters tackling vehicle crime, yet it happens on your doorstep and nothing.. Now i dont know if the bike was stolen, but i would imagine if it was in a coppers back yard, the story would be different. P.s. Mods, why have you changed the title of my thread?
