  1. Are my English skills improved, by writing this type of rhyme or am I purely wasting all my precious time you see I'm very good at French, as they speak double Dutch. and I can't speak anything else, I've been told as much.
  2. Let's toss a silly idea into the works, Can it be connected to the "Arena" to make the biggest indoor/outdoor venue in GB. That would surly put paid to "Leeds" effort to outdo Sheffield.
  3. There is a thread about this dated 2011, this is todays news on ITV - the story is also carried by the bbc - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14025550 Up to 500,000 fridge freezers could be posing serious fire risks in homes and businesses across the country, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has warned. The LFB said a fire in London last week, which was originally thought to have been caused by a lightning strike, was caused by a Beko appliance. Beko has been alerted to the problem which the LFB says has caused 20 fires and one death in London since 2008. The company said it was contacting customers to fix the problem for free. ---------- Post added 01-03-2013 at 18:57 ----------

  5. It could/will close as early as September this year according to Calendar tonight (01/03/13) Is it bigger that the arena? Just thinking about "Pop" concerts etc. There's one thing for sure - If it goes, there will NEVER be another one in Sheffield. Maybe Jess could get some of her athletic mates to support it - (Sorry, Jess, not fair on you) Is this a local council decision? or is it/has it got to be passed by Government. A Retrograde step for Sheffield.

  11. My Bold, I've also noticed that if a news story on the BBC requires an expert, 8 times out of ten that person is a foreigner, usually American - Don't we have people who are expert in the field required.

  15. As a joiner/wood machinist I would go for the “Tig” from a purely financial point of view, All jobs have there good and bad points, With joinery, I reckon it's one of the lease paid skilled job in the building industry, Brick layer, plumber or electrician are all better paid. With the financial climate as it is at the moment I can't see the building industry growing as it should, so will there be the work for you next year or the year after? Good luck with whatever you decide.
  16. Not really a Sheffield subject either
  17. No 2 - Sucker, John Mayer ---------- Post added 20-02-2013 at 18:50 ---------- Can't get "Sucker" out of my head lol
  18. No 2 All Day Sucker - Stevie Wonder
  19. I agree with you 100% - the overheads must be quite daunting and to be honest 50 pence a minute doesn't seem all that unreasonable, it's only when you lump it all together to get 57K a day (Theoretical) that it appears expensive. £6.00 per Adult £5.00 concessions Pre book on line http://www.observationwheelleeds.co.uk and It's 10% cheaper No mention of Children per se I assume they come under concessions.
  20. I think I did point that out, But don't they/it run for more than 8 hours a day? Don't know, but It just gives an incite to what some people expect from their investment.
  21. I didn't get to go on the Sheffield Wheel, so I thought I might take a trip to Leeds and see what there Wheel was like, not that I'd recognise any particular place etc. So I did a search on line (I won't advertise GOOGLE”) for the cost Adults £6.00 concessions £5.00 Does anyone think this is a little bit excessive. 40 pods to carry 6 people each, the ride lasts 12 minutes = £ 57,600.00 over an 8 hour period – I know it's not/won't be full all the time, and there is a delay for change over etc., and that not everybody pays full whack.. but £57K seems like a lot to me, Just wondered what you think, did you go on the Sheffield one? Is my maths wrong (again)
