  1. A question I've asked before first. What happened to Paul who used to work at Eternal Ink? I've had 3 by him and thought he was spot on. His he still tattooing and if so where? Second question. Do Eternal still do gift vouchers? Third question. I want some work extending on my arm. Would Eternal have my custom seeing has Paul did the first stuff. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  2. I'm half way through "Take it like a man"- the autobiography of Boy George. Was stuck for something to read and ir was passed on by the MIL. So far, the best auto biog I've read. Jim
  3. The Norfolk Arms is up at Warren, where you also have the Miners Arms and the Thorncliffe. The Thorncliffe used to do real ale, not sure now as its recently had new management. Not sure what the Acorn stocks real ale wise, and even the Wharncliffe was smooth flow stuff only the last time I managed to get in. Jim
  4. Where's bald Paul from Eternal gone then??? is he still tattooing? What's happening at Eternal when Dave retires then? Is the shop going? Jim
  5. Old M reg 1974 VW Jeans Beetle. It had been modified so that the "Jeans" interior had been ripped out, and they had stuck a massive whale tail on the back. It was in neglected red and bog standard 1300cc engine. The heating pipes had been removed so it was permanently cold. I had stripped back to metal and resprayed in Battleship grey wings with bright pink bonnet, roof, doors and tail. Add on chrome running boards and it looked awesome! The big end went after 2 months, so the engine had a complete rebuild using a campervan engine and parts off a porsche engine! It suddenly became very quick! On one trip to Rotherham, Iin the middle of winter, I had to pull over at Thorpe Hesley to scrape the ice off the windscreen ....... from the inside! Great car, happy days. Jim
  6. I remember Trevor Jones as well from my days at the Leadmill. A strange individual. I used to work at a pub in Grenoside and jump on the last bus into town at 11.30, get off at West Bar and leg it up to the Limit. Usually got in there for around midnight to meet my mates and get wrecked in 2 hours! Got introduced to the Leadmill from there and ended up working at the Leaders for 7 happy years. Remember seeing the Soup Dragons at the Limit and having ticket no.13 out of a total of 15 people! Jim:thumbsup:
  7. You need to name and shame them!!! I now 3 very good roofers and 1 not so good after having problems at our house. Try MW roofing or Matt Hague. I think they are both i yellow pages. Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  8. Other top tunes when I was there. Been caught stealin - Jane's Addiction Monkey gone to heaven- the Pixies Wide Open Space - mansun Glider - My Bloody Valentine Jim:thumbsup:
  9. Well if it wasn't you then Sean, who was it???? Jim:thumbsup:

  11. Can't say i remember the frog impression, but there were many nights working there that I couldn't remember anything much about! Some classic names there and some classic tunes. Mark Ward and wayne Helliwell! Crikey thats going back some. I seem to remember a big greek bouncer as well as Big Joe who was also an Irish fella like martin Boyle. Tunes I always remember from a saturday night.... Anything by The Pogues. Cruisers Creek by the Fall. Thursday Nights- I believe in Miracles by The Jackson Sisters Mark, other then your Amanda are you still in touch with any of these characters? Fancy pulling a reunion night together??? Jim:thumbsup:
  12. The little fella was called AJ, and do you remember Diane's boyfriend who was also the oldest glass collector in Britain.......Scotty! So called because he was Scottish! Never knew his real name. Also remember Serena who worked the cloak room and many many others. Jim:thumbsup:
  13. Hey up Mark! Nice to hear from you. Getting posting those Leadmill stories. I always remember the night of the CS gas canister going off. I made a b line for the little bar off the dance floor and got wrecked in there with Sean and Russ. I think we were getting evacuated about an hour after the cs had gone off and the punters where coming back in! Jim:thumbsup:
  14. The little fella was Adie. The guy with the black quiff, I'm guessing that was Colin and can you remeber Molly who worked on the door as well? I remember all those people as well as Chris who went out with Rachel, and welsh lynne. Mum23 you were well after alw. You still haven't enlightened us with a name? Jim:thumbsup:
  15. Yes Mr Coopster, you would know! If I was gay, which I'm not by the way, you certainly wouldn't be one I'd fancy:gag: Jim:thumbsup:
  16. Hey Up alw1201. Well I recognise all those last names you mentioned. Would Mark happen to be a relation of yours?????? I think its safe to call it a fling really. I'd never have gotten a job at the Ledders if it wasn't for you. Not only do I remember Mick the bar manager, and that big photo of hom over the bar, but also his lesser known assistant, Alan! To be honest, the first 2 years when I worked there for Mick/Alan, were the best by a long way. You could have adrink behind the bar at that time so long as you didn't abuse it. Do you still keep in touch with any of them? I think mum23 was after your time behind the bar. I think I know who she is though. Keep in touch Jim:thumbsup:
  17. You need to give me a few clues mum23 as to who you are then? I used to work on Friday and Saturdays only, and had another job during the day. I lived at Grenoside at the time when I worked in the Ledders. I used to knock about with Sean (from Luton, now lives in Michigan) and Kim (from Gleadless, now lives in Norway). I think I know who you could be, but I need a clue as old age is setting in..... Cheers Jim:thumbsup:
  18. If you don't like how it looks in a certain place or position, they wipe it off and you try again until you are happy. They don't simply stick it on and push you to get on with it. Jim:thumbsup:
  19. I've 3 tattoo's done from Eternal Ink. West street 1 shop design, 1 design of my own and 3rd is some lettering. All done by Paul, all excellent. Would go back to him again and intend to. Its a really clean shop and very friendly Hope this helps Cheers jim:thumbsup: I know there have been several threads before about where to have tats done.
  20. I used to play football for a team at Warren, and our kit suffered a similar fate. It too was recovered from the Magnet!!! Jim:thumbsup:
  21. That be the one...... I once saw her pin a lad up against a classroom by his neck. I'm not kidding!!! A devil with a hockey stick! Terry Gifford was my favourite teacher at Yewlands. English teacher, completely mad. Also Mrs Round, french teacher. I don't remember one word of French but attended everyone of her classes:love: Jim:thumbsup:
  22. Had a coffee with the guy who plays Jim McDonald in Corrie. Was in Toronto at the time, he had the same Blue Jays sweat shirt on for the next 247 episodes. Met many, many bands whilst working at the Leadmill. Probably the ost well known would be Peter Hook from New Order. Jim:thumbsup:
