Waldo Posted February 26, 2015 Share Posted February 26, 2015 It's a PUG 1007, and is showing 'anti pollution fault' on the dash, and driving quite slow apparently... Any idea what the diagnostic machine would cost? Also, I saw some advice saying if it's been used on short journeys a lot (it has) that driving on the motorway for a bit, may clear the fault. geared Posted February 26, 2015 Share Posted February 26, 2015 Sounds like the DPF is stuffed up, usually a fairly hefty bill if it has to go to a garage. If you can get the light to go out, by turning the car off and then back on again you need to head straight to a motorway and thrash the nuts off it for a good half an hour. If not prepare to get your wallet out. ---------- Post added 26-02-2015 at 15:45 ---------- What if gasoline? Petrols will have EGR, but not a DPF. They don't generate the soot and muck a Diesel engined car does so are less likely to clog the EGR valve. You can still ruin the exhaust catalyst by doing lots of short journeys tho.
