Elohim
Well you have made two mistakes then. 1) The parking problems around the mosque are 1% of the scale of the parking problems on a match day. Are you aware that SUFC is situated 500 yards further into town and they play in the premiership. 2) There is not going to be any noise pollution. Will there be a call to prayer? NorbertColon
Wrong with multiculturalism and lack of integration? So the old Co-Op building was okay then? If Muslims are investing in the city why is that wrong. There are plenty of mosques in Lahore and Karach anyway What woud please you in terms of integration? For Muslims to build a most designed like a church when many other churches are being converted into flats or wine bars? I just cannot see your point as to how this building does not help integration. If they were integrating into British soiciety, they would not be erecting a monstrosity of a building that would even look an eyesore back in Pakistan. They would not be wearing clothes that would look better in Kashmir, be speaking non-English languages or be needing to follow their religion in a manner more suited to Pakistan than England. They are not entegrating, or trying to integrate. They are building a number of growing Pakistani slum areas in our major cities, where English is not the maoin language - there are even shop fronts adorned with foreign language signs - this is an afront to the hospitality these people have been given. Maybe they are folowing our fine example. We wore British clothes when we were in India, we spoke English or louder English when speaking to foreigners. With each posting you only show your small minded, woefully ignorant and bigoted views. If I move abroad, I will learn the language and obey the local laws but if I want to converse in English with my friends whose first language is also English, then I will do so. If I want to wear UK style fashion I will do so, but if I like the local fashion I would wear that too. Why should people wear the same clothes as everyone else, that's not fitting in, that's behaving like a mindless sheep. And if I was to open a shop specialising in British Goods I would probably have the Sign in English too. It's people like you that are the real problem, just because 'they' don't fit your narrowminded view of how one should dress and speak, 'they' are wrong. The real irony of your idiocy is that you would not change in the slightest if you lived elsewhere and would probably expect the locals to conform to your sad little views. qazam
Will there be a call to prayer? There is a call to prayer (Adhan) 5 times a day, every day. Although will you be able to hear it outside the mosque, I doubt it. Most mosques dont have speaker systems that produce a loud enough sound. As for placing an external speaker, I dont think Heeley mosque has permission. Most mosques have introduced a radio system, where people can take receivers home and tune into the mosque frequency. That way they can hear the call to prayer. Hope that answers it. Normally every second Saturday. Though an occasional Tuesday. Please explain. I'm sure that you now feel very superior, having identified that I didn't proof read my last few posts. I bow down to your magnificence. That doesn't mean you're right though, in any way.
