Rather than have the moral courage to continue with a confrontational debate, they run to the mods, tears in their eyes, waving the PC banner and demanding action be taken. It’s their joker – but they tend to play it a little too often. It must be down to an overly-protective upbringing, which allowed them to run to mummy whenever things became difficult. They were probably cosseted through school, and the sort of people who continue in adulthood to rely on their parents to bail them out financially every few years – I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them are even ‘mature students’ – we all know the type. I’m reminded of Rick Mayall’s character in the Young Ones – a snivelling PC-obsessed creep who was reviled by most people who knew him, but probably not in receipt of enough kickings. Whatever they are, they don’t have the gumption to deal with lively debate stood up for themselves – but then, that’s the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates isn't it – a spine!
  2. Good, because any berk can just keep googling and come up with articles to support their view - there are articles to support any and every daft idea there's ever been, so links to websites count for little.
  3. Mmmm - I was banned for 'trolling' just before Christmas. My 'trolling' was to state my view, contrary to that of the band of do-gooders that were online at the time. Doubtless one of them complained that my view 'offended' him (or her), and I was therefore banned for trolling. It would seem that some people's sensibilities are rather delicate. Pathetic really.

Yes - express an honest view in plain language without any reference to an individual, or even without saying anything more offensive than could be printed by a columnist in a daily tabloid, and in come the torrents of "you are racist/homophobic scum" etc etc from the holier-than-thou members of the Forum. Two-faced no-marks who need to get a life, the lot of 'em.
  5. Dear lady, I doubt that any self-respecting homophobe would also be a misogynist. Perhaps you simply misinterpret things, and assume misogyny when there’s just a simple lack of respect for your over-tolerant views, which would apply irrespective of your gender?
  6. Yes, we could all politely discuss the best ways to reward muggers and burglars, and how to allocate taxes in such a way as to attract as many good-for-nothing immigrants as possible. Wouldn't it be lovely.
  7. Wrong - we've quoted the crack down on drug dealers in China - which worked, and somebody else mentioned another Eastern country (Malaysia was it?) where the crime is low due to severe punishment regimes. It has to be truly severe to work, like slotting joyriders in the back of the head and throwing them in communal graves, but if it's severe enough, it will be a deterrent. Actually, I have exceptionally good eyesight - very good to help me shoot things. That aside, what you consider to be the views of a zealot are no more repugnant to you than mine are to me. I was discussing crime and punishment over dinner with a number of friends last night. My views, as it happens, were among the mildest (but then there weren't any empty-headed liberals round the table).
  8. And could you please explain why New York's transformation has been such a success when, according to you, it should be no better?
  9. A great many people, certainly those whose families like to live by traditional moral codes and who take pride in their country and nationality, listen without fail to the Queen's speech. As it happens, I do. But then, I always toast the Queen during a dinner when we move on to the port. Many of my friends do the same.
  10. It's my pleasure - I do hope this applies to all of your ways.
  11. Actually, one that is wanted by the majority of the population, but not the majority of the loud lefty types. Who gives a stuff about their opinions?
  12. Why do you have to twist the subject so blatantly? They do not like to torture anything. All hunters hope for a nice clean kill with minimal suffering, whether at the hands of a pack or through a well-aimed shot, it's all the same. But, clean kill or not, we're talking a pest species here, not open season on nuns - why do people not have anything better to do than worry about the poor fluffy wuffy foxy woxies? To the anti-hunt types I would say get a life, and let other people get on with theirs.
  13. Because some of us like to follow the path that nature intended for us. We do things like reproducing with the fairer gender of our species, because it feels natural to us and is following nature’s intended path. Similarly, we enjoy letting our instincts feed from the excitement of the chase, through hunting. Unless you’ve ever ridden with a hunt or stalked game you wouldn’t understand. If you are without experience of the country community you will fail to understand, but hunting, shooting and fishing are part of country life and will continue to be. We now use birds of prey to legally despatch the foxes - one hunt I know uses a golden eagle - what a stunningly beautiful creature. On occasion the dogs do, accidentally, get to the fox first - but that's better for the fox, because the hounds shred it in seconds while the bird will just clamp the back of its neck and pin it down with its talons and start pulling pieces off. Sometimes the fox dies quickly if the talons penetrate the scull cavity, but not usually. Almost all of the hunts are carrying on regardless with just a few tweeks to the way they operate to get round the silly law brought in by our lefty government to satisfy a bunch of bleeding heart do-gooders who have no idea about country life. Leave country activities to country people.
  14. It must be real - I can't possibly believe that Russel Grant's only talents are being fat and camp.
