Knoxville   10 #13 Posted December 11, 2006 It is highly unlikely that the injectors will needs replacing - recon injectors will have only had a clean and had the lift pressure of the needle checked. Take them out yourself and give them a clean, it's all they need.  It aint rocket science
 Share this content via...

littlebasher   11 #19 Posted February 22, 2010 yes ok..... have you ever seen a common rail diesel engine? not that easy!  If you're not handy with your tools, i wouldn't recommend stripping down a high pressure injection system!..Plus, you'll probably need a slide hammer to get the injectors out (if they come out!) HarryFlint   10 #22 Posted March 7, 2011 Hearing a few mixed reviews for these guys now, mainly over lack of any gaurantee.  I have a Focus 1.8 TDCI 100 04 plate, 122k miles. It doesnt like starting on cold mornings (does it on 2nd or 3rd attempt) and has been known to cut out, but is generally a pig until the engine is warm.  Looking for advice please.. carosio   188 #23 Posted March 7, 2011 Changing injectors is almost as easy as changing spark plugs. Have you considered doing it yourself? Most (if not all) modern diesel engines will not need any tuning afterwards because the injectors are pre-calibrated.  It can be provided that the injectors aren't in tight! Also you need the correct socket, although these aren't expensive. When I replaced the head on my Astra, it took a 4ft bar to slacken the injectors in the replacement (second hand) head!
