  1. Kept me awake too. To be honest, it sounded like something had gone really wrong at a factory. Should be reported to the council, if anyone can bothered...
  2. The new junction is a disaster. It wastes energy on traffic lights, costs locals (including me and my family) valuable time, and doesnt really give any benefit. Why is the left turn from Leppings Lane onto Halifax Rd not a give way? It makes no sense to be sat on a red light with no pedestrians crossing and no cars coming up Penistone Rd. Why is there a green light to go straight on down Penistone Rd from Halifax Rd but a Green arrow to turn right onto Leppings Lane? So right turners on red are actually sometimes sat facing a green light AND a red light. Which to choose! I have been honked at for sitting at that green / red light waiting to turn right. Why not put traffic light control on the roundabout in peak times? It just seems to be a massive waste of time that might have saved a bit of time for people travelling through in rush hour but overall causes us locals much more frustration. I';m sorry but this has just been one massive FAIL
  3. Nice. Some publicity. ---------- Post added 28-11-2013 at 12:40 ---------- Probably all of them, they just never had to speak up and defend them before.
  4. I would guess the Police have decided to step up investigations to try catch this bottom feeding scumbag. What an absolute top drawer loser. If they catch the perpetrator they should lock him/her up for a long time.

  6. its OK but transport links to town are bobbar. Yes there is the train but its a fair walk from Burncross and the buses take an age to get into Sheffield.
  7. You need to complete the template (see sticky notes) then they will close your thread to comments. They don't tell you that is what will happen but that's what happens.
  8. We have come to the very difficult decision to give up one of our 2 cats. We have two small children and are finding 2 cats is causing problems - the house is just too busy. So, we are offering our older cat, Dylan, up for adoption to a new home. He is 5 years old, mostly brown/black tabby with a white tummy and socks. He is very very friendly and will happily investigate a room full of people. He is quite large, everyone that sees him says "your cat is massive!" but he is also gentle. He is neutered and had all the injections when he was young. He is very gentle and never lashes out. Our requirements for him are a home with a garden - he loves to follow you around outside and to sit in the sun. If you are interested, please PM me and I can email you pictures. 9. As title. My lawn has developed lawn rust, a yellow fungus brought about by the warm humid weather. Has anyone else got this problem? Do I need to be concerned?
  10. I took a car load of garden waste to deepcar today. It was shut. I then went to shirecliffe at about 16.55 - a few cars were there and the drivers looked rather confused - as was I. Looking at the veolia web site I can see it shut at 4pm. Helpful. People were dumping stuff outside the gates. I can see this getting out of hand soon. I went home and put my garden waste on my front garden while I find out what the hell to do with it.
  11. How much would an architect cost and what is the benefit of them over using a builders plans?
  12. Did you get architects to provide designs and then get quotes from those designs?
  13. Paulas - have you got a builder lined up for it, or is that the architects estimate? I think I am looking at £15k - £20k by the look of it so far...
