Saint George's Day. Do You Celebrate It.

Recommended Posts

As St George's day is on the horizon I thought I'd ask.

Do you celebrate it? If so what do you do?

We used to, we'd have friends around, we'd have a BBQ, drinks, music, laughs but we haven't done anything to mark it for the last 5 years or so.

What about you?  Do you celebrate it or just let it pass you by?

First of all Daddy,

I think you should explain to Pattricia that it's not George Clooney your referring too.

Me, I'll be looking for some Dragons to slay.

No I don’t do anything special. There use to be a small parade, to celebrate it, outside Sheffield Town Hall. I wonder if they still do it?

I'm not especially religious so I don't celebrate St. George's Day....It's not like Christmas where there is a notable tradition.

I know that St George is the patron saint of other countries (I seem to think Spain or Portugal is), might be interesting to see how other countries celebrate it.

Do Scots celebrate St Andrew's and the Welsh St David's?

I know that on St Partick's Day, some people who aren't even Irish go round the city centres of an evening in those tall hats drinking Guinness
