Looking at the reasons why, due to them dropping back into the Championship in the 3 years, I'd say 4 points is probably appropriate. 

 

At the end of the day, the Blades staying up is in our own hands

Only team realistically to benefit from that 4 points reduction is Luton

 

Burnley? maybe a chance, they are likely to get 3 points against the Blades on the 20th April

 

Sheffield United? No chance

 

For United to benefit they need both forest and everton to be docked 20 points, and Luton Town be docked 18 points.

 

That is the only way United will avoid relegation this season
