They helped us in the last war, but it will be complicated if Trump gets elected and withdraws from Ukraine 

We had been fighting WW2  for 2 years and 3 months before the USA  joined in.

Had it not been for Pearl Harbour,  would they have joined in at all ?

If Trump gets elected,  he won't go to war for us.

Obviously appreciate (and understand) that there are complex issues in the areas concerned.

Having said that the  current difficulties could have been averted/mimised if:-
(a) Russia hadn't illegally invaded Ukraine
(b) Hamas hadn't stupidly &  illegally 'done their terrorist thing' on 7th October.

What you reap you sow (personal opinion of course).

Has WW3 already begun or am I just watching Threads too often?

I actually wrote a paper about that for uni nearly 50 years ago . It was about the American Annexation of Canada. Due to  the American tendency to take natural resourses for granted  and squander what they have ( Golf courses in a desert ) . Canada has an abundance of fresh water but I doubt they will give it to the Americans freely

I would say it's a case of 'if you have to ask, then it hasn't begun.'

That's not to say we are not in a parlous position; we are. But that's a long way from a nuclear war. 

We've lived with nuclear weapons for over 70 years, and learned to treat them with respect. I'm hoping that holds true, but any sort of fanaticism is always going to be a particular danger. Which is why this situation is fraught to say the least.

I think it's inevitable Anna.

More and more of these fanatical leaders will get their hands on nuclear weapons, there not daft, and have easy access to technology.

In the not to distance future all these rogue states will have them.

Germany thought they'd cracked it with the V2 rocket (Doodle Bug) and didn't hesitate to use them.

Imagine if Adolph had nuclear weapons.

The World is now a tinder box waiting to explode, probably not in my lifetime, I'll give it 10/15 years before Armageddon.

I shall be at Hillsborough this Saturday with my Sandwich Board..
