Some good news.

An opportunity for sensible forward planning thanks to the vaccine and omicron.

Also a shout out to those around the World, who questioned the data, and protested against overreaching government mandates.

And, that precious gift of democracy, hard won, and under constant threat by communists, islamists and globalists, which is enjoyed by less than half the World's population.

In a democracy the voice of the people can not be shut down permanently. Common sense ultimately prevails.

What you babbling about? The only reason we have some tranquility is because of the vaccine and luck (a milder strain)

The Washington Times.  Fox News in paper format.  Handy for the budgie cage though.

Had a quick search.  Literally no one talking about this right now who isn't also licking DeSantis's arse, frothing about stolen elections, or otherwise getting worked up about something something ma freedoms.  I'll pass until some proper epidemiologists have a shufty at the data.

There is no way you will see stuff proving these lockdowns have achieved very little (if anything at all nett of their huge social and economic cost) on the Beeb etc  until it is totally impossible to ignore. But that point will come, I guarantee it.

I don't need to brush up on anything, the fact that the whole thing is total nonsense gets clearer everyday, there's only the gullible clinging to it to save face.

Bonkers.

Official.

No, Tops is right. Can you not see where all the evidence, and the world, is going ?

We will lead the world out of this and back to normality, and I predict the world (with the possible exception of - verging on Facist - Australia and NZ) will follow us quicker than people seem to think.

Australia "verging on the Facist" :

Unvaccinated parents will be BANNED from seeing their own sick KIDS in Western Australian hospitals under strict new laws from Mark McGowan

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10447723/Unvaccinated-parents-banned-seeing-sick-KIDS-hospital-Western-Australia.html
Mark McGowan to lock unvaccinated parents out of hospitals seeing sick kids
New Covid rules will see the unvaxxed denied entry to all 'high-risk settings'
Legislation comes after Mark McGowan reneged on re-opening his state

Even more unforgivably, it's completely irrational as :

1 - Kids are at pretty much zero risk from Covid

2 - Once vaccinated even vulnerable people are at low risk of death from Covid (esp with Omicron).

3 - Vaccinated people are can catch and pass on Covid, esp a few months after their jab !

4 - Everyone is going to catch Covid anyway, and a good thing too as Omicron is so mild.

How did South Africa go exactly the same way with a much lesser vaccine uptake? New strains of virus's are almost always lesser than the one before, i thought you followed "the science" it wasn't luck.

You were the one who chose to jump in with 2 feet when you found the Johns Hopkins study by one of their professors and tried to present it as a revelation.

Most ,not all of the actions carried out by virtually every country was deemed necessary at the time due to changing circumstances and evolving knowledge.

Your claims to have had more foresight than those who had to make bigger decisions based on wider knowledge than your own continues to amuse me.

Except Sweden which took a far more sensible approach.

Reports this morning of a staggering 77% increase in the number of children needing specialist mental health treatment, which is no surprise at all, I said early in this thread that the collateral from over-zealous and in some cases ridiculous measures would do more damage than Covid-19 ever could.

SNP are officially bonkers :

Nicola Sturgeon takes a saw to classroom doors in ‘crackpot’ DIY effort to stop Covid in schools
Chopping bottom off each door is expected to cost around £150, resulting in an estimated total cost to taxpayers of £300,000

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/02/02/classroom-doors-chopped-scotland-tackle-covid-spread/

I don't even know where to start with this, after all it is not even necessary, but, most obviously, have they never heard of "door stops" ?

NO !

It is becoming increasingly clear lockdowns have achieved very little, and, once all the massive collateral damage is factored in they will have done more harm than good. I said that right back in March 2020, this is the biggest over reaction in the history of the world. After all, we knew were dealing with  a virus which 99% of those infected survived and the average age of death turned out to be mid 80s. We did not know the exact average age of death for certain back in March 2020 but we did know that the virus was very discriminate in who was vulnerable to it and therefore locking down everyone was a ludicrous over reaction.

 >>due to changing circumstances and evolving knowledge<<

Why do you keep coming out with this patently incorrect stuff ?

The date on the graphic below, is 16 March 2020 BTW :

That's fairly cheap to be fair, unless there are a lot to do at the same time.

Fire regs state that the gap below a door should be no more than 10mm so good luck when they get a check from the fire officer.
