Or you just heard what you wanted to hear, rather than anything that was actually said...

...it's not like you haven't got lots of form in that department! 🤣

Its not just a license for BBC  but according to the information/ website- you pay if:

  • watch or record TV on any channel - via any TV service (e.g. Sky, Virgin, BT, Freeview, Freesat)
  • watch TV live on any streaming service (e.g. ITVX, Channel 4, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Now TV, Sky Go)
  • watch BBC iPlayer*.

On any device.

But... https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/topics/what-does-your-licence-fee-pay-for-top13#:~:text=The TV Licence fee is,screen%2C on air and online.

None of the license fee goes to Sky, Virgin, ITV etc.. two of those have separate fees themselves and one funds via advertising.

The license fee is a massive con job, especially if you don't actually watch any of the tosh on the BBC.

As someone said before, it's like going and doing your shopping in Tesco, then getting sued by Asda because you didn't pay them.
