Highcliffe Rd / Hangingwater Rd (The Sheffield Western Bypass)

Recommended Posts

Despite its narrow, winding and hilly shape this is an important road for getting around the west of the city.

It's currently in a shocking state on Highcliffe Rd. Big holes and uneven surface. Can we do better?

Have you reported the potholes?

There are potholes in a lot of other areas. Just about everywhere actually!

If you report the potholes and the council does nothing (as it often does) then you can claim if your car is damaged in them.

There was a sign on the lamposts stating that they were starting work on Whiteley Wood Road and Common Lane (about time) on the 23rd  Don't know if it has actually started yet, so hopefully it will extend down on to Hangingwarer

There's electricity work going on at the moment at the top of Whiteley Wood Road

They said we were going to have pristine roads for more than 20 years. because that's how long the contract runs for.

City Road and White Lane, Gleadless,  bumpy already.

They've had to completely redo Greystones Road, before being resurfaced for the second time it was miles worse than Pre Amey contract. Abbey Lane near Ecclesall Sawmills needs redoing too.

We went up last night and they have changed the date on the lamposts to the 30th now .  Saw the electricity works got traffic lights there
