Jack Grey
Firstly, I'm not a Wednesday fan But are the playoffs fair? If the bottom 3 teams go down then surely the first 3 should go up Especially in the Championship where a team that barely gets into 6th can go up to the premier League Thoughts? Axe
They give more teams something to play for longer in the season which is good for attendances. All the teams know the rules before the season starts.

rogets
If you finish in 3rd place and lose then yes, the playoffs aren't fair But if you sneek into 6th place on the last day of the season, and end up getting promoted in the finals, even via penalties then you probably think the playoffs are the best thing since sliced bread If the owls finish in 3rd, I don't fancy their chances in the playoffs
wearysmith
No they aren't. It's an insult to those who get 3rd place. However, they're deemed money-makers so we'll not see the back of them.

The playoffs are there to help attendances and increase revenue for teams playing all the divisions. At one time only two teams were promoted to the top league of English football. Is it fair the team who finish 3rd bottom of the Premier League is relegated and lose millions of revenue? All the teams in the Championship know they have to finish in the top two to guarantee promotion. The team finishing third is lucky to have another chance to gain promotion via the playoffs and should not complain if they miss out after having a second bite of the cherry. Monkesreturn
Firstly, promotion to the PL is actually worth far nearer 190m. Secondly, yes the play-offs are fair and without them the league competition would become stale. The play-off format gives more teams something to play for... I might be a blade and weve had no success in the play-offs, but never the less wouldnt change the format. Irregardless off finishing, whoever comes out of that mini competition on top....they deserve to go and they dederve the rewards.
Hotmale 1954
I don't think they're fair. 3 down. 3 up. Money shouldn't be God. Don't clubs get more money for each position they rise higher in the League? Top 3, most money, then a graded decline down to say ......... 10th? Failure shouldn't be so well rewarded. Adding games to squeeze more money from people's pockets is immoral.
