'Course you'd have to take a little risk, with nobody to bail you out if you guessed wrong! Stay safe! Interesting assumption on your behalf. However, that is all in hand, for me at least. But thanks for the unsolicited and unnecessary advice. Nevertheless, profiteering on this scale leaves a bad taste in the mouth. If you start early enough, are sure of your opinions, many "have nots," have turned into "haves". It's done all the time. But there's so many reasons people can find, "not to bother". I’d be leaving most of the “advice” that Trastrick offers. Like you, I’ve plenty of investments, but I’d question the morality of a company increasing profits five fold, whilst throwing millions into fuel poverty. Mercifully, my energy is fixed until next summer, and I can minimise heating bills quite easily with my log burner, or a trip to Spain. I do feel for those who don’t have those options. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to see our politicians actually do something about it.
 Share this content via...

In my family growing up, and in our old neghborhood, we didn't know one professional above a labourer, or anybody who had every been inside a university, except for Uncle George who was a plasterer. I was the first in my family to go even go into a trade, apprentice electrician. Imagine if our parents, uncles, cousins, had been doctors, accountants, lawyers, and investment managers, how we would have done. trastrick 866 #107 Posted July 28, 2022 (edited) The problem is that economy hurts only a select few. The rich don’t care , the poor get their benefits indexed. So do the government bureaucrats, and their unions, with indexed pensions. The under the table cash traders are not affected, only the poor, law abiding, tax paying working stiff who carries the burden for the whole deal. And the load gets heavier, until it breaks his back. Then you have a change in government for better or worse! Edited July 28, 2022 by trastrick
 Share this content via...
