Why not? ..................

The question should be, Why would we?

Ive just read that back to myself and its coming off a bit argumentative for no reason.

When I say why would we. What I mean is this guy had his head hacked off by a couple of loonie tunes muslims in broad daylight in the street. What else did he do?

So what would putting a statue up of him achieve?

What would be the message?

All this false sincerity is pathetic,

What makes you think it's false?

Ive quoted the my post and put in bold why I think there is no real reason to have a statue of the guy.

it is political, it was a watershed moment in race relations and waking up to institutional racism

This is true, but this might just be May's cack handed way of trying to look less dreadful after the Windrush fiasco

did you not get threatened with things if you didnt do what you were meant to?

Its funny how instead of agreeing that a racist murder is a bad thing the dirty racists ALWAYS insist on muddying the waters and blaming the family instead

Where the heck did race get brought into it ? Only by you. He was 18 and she set a 10 o'clock curfew.

You kind of have to bring race into it when you’re discussing a racist murder.

Are you simple? This was a black lad, waiting for a bus and a gang of white boys shouted ''What what <removed>'' and then surrounded him and stabbed him twice in the upper body.

I dare you to come back and defend what you said. I bet you won't.

As I said originally, a horrible thing to happen. I won't really go down the road of, when I were a lad, but at 15 I was working down a coal mine, at 18 I had been on shifts for 2 years. If my parents had locked me out at 10 I wouldn't have been able to work for those 2 years when I was working shifts. As his best friend said, who is black, it wouldn't have happened if his mother hadn't set the curfew.
