Sheffield Hallam Accomodation - Charlotte Court

 

MY friends son has an offer to go here in September , can you give him any tips for his first year if he accepts?

Are rooms good size ?

IS it good accomodation, how long to walk to town, any major do's & dont's ?

Any good advice for a first year going to uni ?

What are the best items to take to uni ?

I would consider a PC essential these days, probably a laptop. As many weeks as possible of doing the household budget and being aware of household bills might help. Show them how to use the washing machine and settings e.t.c. Basic cookery, beans, eggs, e.t.c.

Would go a step further and reconsider the choice of uni.

Take a printer! I went to uni and it cost me a fortune using the printer in the computer/library building.

I remember looking round charlotte court and it was really nice, though this was around 5 years ago. If I remember rightly, it's a short walk from lead mill and the train station.

why don't you just Google Charlotte Court here appears to be a number of mixed reviews . One thing beware the hidden charges . These student blocks are notorious for all sorts of fines and extras. Ask for a copy of the agreement before he signs up

On the other hand, if he is prepared to spend three or four years studying something he has a passion for then encourage him all you can. A lot of bitter so-called experts will poo poo degrees they don't deem worthy out of pure spite.
