Good story Alan. What do you remember of the Truro? Hard to find info on that place!

The last time I was in the Truro a brickie walked in and said "the Big O is dead"

It wasn't the Big O it was Elvis, so I suppose 1977.

The Athol Hotel-Charles Street in 1965, huge place like two storey's high and a long way upstairs to the 'men's' like a Wild-West type saloon (but with out the violence). Sold Newcastle Brown on tap ! Sadly closed a few weeks (also 1965) after my legal drinking age.
