apelike
Careful, there are two "Crawshaws". The one on The Moor is different to the one in Stocksbridge and Hillsborough, John Crawshaw is the quality butcher, Crawshaws is the cheap and crappy one Blimey I didn't know that. It was the one that has a shop in Stocksbridge as I remember commenting on the fact that I used to get my bacon from them when I lived there. I assumed it was the same as the one on the Moor. TJH12
Hi all Has anyone used this butchers and would you recommend it? I currently order from muscle food and find their meat good quality but I now work quite close to Crashaw's and would prefer to use a local business if it's decent meat. Thanks! vincentb
Well done for choosing to support local business! If it's meat you're after then you're spoilt for choice: around that area, there are good butchers in the Moor Market; also Simmonites on Division Street, both of which I'd recommend over Crawshaws. sgtkate
Yeah. I thought the Crawshaws on the Moor was a different company who sell good quality meat. The shop outside the Market sells very poor quality meat in my opinion and I wouldn't recommend it for much other than stews and so on. Crawshaws IN THE MARKET is much better quality, but I'd still prefer Simmonites up on Division Street.
damo
Slattery's in the Moor market is the best butchers I've ever used - friendly staff too!

Spongey
Is that butcher in Broomhill still there, near Select and Save? I went there once as a fresher, reeling from the price of chicken breast in supermarkets, and bought a load from him- it came out more expensive than I'd expected, but seeing as each breast was so large that it lasted me two meals, it was worth it!
