waddy13 Â Â 10 #2 Posted October 1, 2015 Cuold be if you are using freeview as opposed to cable or sky that your aerial is pointing to a mast other than Crosspool or Emley Moor or your freeview box needs retuning
 Share this content via...

Annie Bynnol   613 #5 Posted October 1, 2015 The solution to your problem depends on how you receive the signal. On occasions, technical faults result in receiving the wrong Calendar.  Normal digital TV. All transmitters are now digital and will pick up the stongest local signal. Which way does the aerial point? North or towards Crosspool will give you Calendar South. Belmont in Lincolnshire (visible from Sheffield) is very tall and powerful and gives excellent reception on Sheffield hills and East facing slopes it also broadcasts Calendar East. On change over to digital problems have arisen with coverage changes. Try to retune- use an outside aerial (even a really old aerial can still work), point the aerial correctly or change the aerial. There are very good established local businesses who understand our local problem.  Sky or Freesat reception should give Calendar South automatically. Re connect phone and/or retune if needed.  Freeview again should give Calendar South automatically. Retune if needed.
 Share this content via...

Colin Foster   72 #7 Posted October 1, 2015 If you watch ITV HD then you see the Hull version.  No, it's Granada. ITV HD across the whole of Northern England is the Granada version. ITV haven't launched ITV HD Yorkshire yet.
 Share this content via...

Re connect phone and/or retune if needed.  Freeview again should give Calendar South automatically. Retune if needed.  There hasn't been a Calendar South for quite a few years now, just West and East. The West version has the Leeds backdrop behind the presenters, and is transmitted from Emley Moor. On the East version it's the Humber Bridge behind the presenters. This is transmitted from Belmont in Lincolnshire and for some odd reason, Crosspool.  This is different to BBC1 where Crosspool caries the same version of Look North as Emley Moor (Leeds version). If you're receiving from Crosspool you will get news for East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire on Calendar.  On Sky you automatically get the Calendar East version and that cannot be changed.  However, ITV+1 on Freeview and Sky shows the Calendar West version for everyone. John_S6 Â Â 10 #12 Posted October 4, 2015 If you want Sheffield news, then watch the bulletins on Sheffield Live. They come with the added bonus of being unintentionally hilarious, as the monotone newsreaders seem to struggle to read and speak the English language.
