geared   320 #6 Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) Before his stint in prison he was a relatively decent footballer (on the field), the 2011-2012 season he had 34 goals for 42 games. Compare that to their current choice of forwards and you'll see how desperate they are for someone up front.  I expect the chance to pick up someone and pay them next to nothing (because no-one else would touch him with a 10ft pole) was too good to pass up. No User Name   10 #7 Posted November 14, 2014 Never mind if you think he should or shouldnt play for the club again, the club are being a bit dim here. All the negative publicity alone should get them to kick him into touch, never to be associated with the club again.
 Share this content via...

Jonny5 Â Â 10 #9 Posted November 14, 2014 All clubs have elements of supporters that are disgusting. Â The problem here is that SUFC's handling of the case has now created this toxic siege mentality.
 Share this content via...

F. Sidebottom   10 #12 Posted November 14, 2014 Don't tar all Sheffield United fans with the same brush - all clubs have idiots for fans.  But these goons are not helping at all.  In fact, part of the outcry in this case since Evans's release is the fact that the victim has had to change her identity twice due to threats (supposedly from Sheffield United 'fans') due to her name being exposed and abused on Twitter.  If these mugs hadn't done this and threatened and abused her, as they are now doing to Jess Ennis-Hill, then I'm sure the media circus would have been at least a little less hostile towards Evans.  They really have scored an own goal here, and they continue to do so now with their abuse to Ennis-Hill.  As I say, all clubs have idiot fans. But some of those blades are beyond hope.
 Share this content via...
