Many City Centre pubs are putting on free gigs

Shakespeare's pub on Gibralter Street is well known for combining music and good beer

CADS is hosting the official blues stage

Brothers Arms at Heeley is putting on an outdoor beer & music festival

 

Plus lots more free stuff too

 

Festival transport

 

The main festival transport this year is Supertram, who are celebrating their 21st birthday this year.

 

Within the core festival area trams run every 5-10 minutes from early morning until about midnight (combination of blue route Sheffield Station-Malin Bridge and Yellow route Meadowhall-Middlewood).

 

Additionally look out for 'Bands on the Tram' a special Tramlines tram with live accoustic music performances on board, this will depart Sheffield Station hourly on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

 

A special Tramlines Festival Explorer all day ticket will be available for £3 allowing travel between Sheffield Station and Infirmary Road including the following stops:

- Sheffield Station (handy for the Leadmill)

- Fitzalan Square

- Castle Square (handy for O2 Academy, Millenium Galleries and Tudor Square)

- Cathedral (handy for Peace Gardens and the Cathedral)

- City Hall (handy for wristband exchange at City Hall, Division Street and Barkers Pool)

- West Street (handy for Devonshire Green)

- University of Sheffield (handy for Foundry & Fusion, Octagon etc)

- Netherthorpe Road (handy for Ponderosa Park main stage)

- Shalesmoor (handy for CADS, Night Kitchen and Kelham Island)

- Infirmary Road

 

The normal Stagecoach Sheffield bus & tram Dayrider will also be available - £3.90 adult, £2.00 child or £9 family.

 

For venues off the tram route, there are Stagecoach buses:

Folk Forest at Endcliffe Park - buses 83/88

This is Heeley - buses 25/43/44

Abbeydale Picture House Social - bus 87

Weston Park - bus 52

 

Park & Ride is available at Nunnery Square and Middlewood, days car parking plus tram travel for 1 adult is £4.50 or with family tram travel for £6.50.

 

There will also be a special festival shuttle bus operated by First between Endcliffe Park Folk Forest and the Ponderosa main stage for wristband holders, charging a special flat fare of 50p a ride.

That is hard to navigate !! I hope the programme has a grid of venues x time so you can get your head round it a bit easier

 

Probably open to debate.... The main schedule page has literally all acts listed in time order but you can click on the venue or band to filter that way.

thanks - I didn't realise you could filter it by venue - makes it a lot easier than ploughing through hundreds of acts
