Happ Hazzard
All actors that play Mario seem to meet a tragic end. First Captain Lou Albano, now Bob Hoskins. RIP.

tara
RIP Bob Hoskins, one of my favourite Actors, no airs and graces, a lovely down to earth Man and most importantly a great Actor. Loved his Films and not forgetting his part in the wonderful Dennis Potter's "Pennies from Heaven"

mjw47
Thought the final scene in The Long Good Friday was brilliant. A young Brosnan as the IRA hitter turns around from the front passenger seat of the limo and points his pistol at Hoskins in the back seat, and smiles like a wolf. Hoskins suddenly realises what is happening, and what is about to happen. Not a word is spoken by either of them, but Hoskins face registers everything. Terrific acting. RIP Bob. shanes teeth
Did you hear the story about when Hoskins was stand by to play de Niro's part of Al Capone in the Untouchables. He was not needed but director Brian Da Palma sent a cheque for $20 000 as a retainer fee.Hoskins wrote back to thank him and asked "Are there any more films that you don't want me to be in?" That my favourite of Hoskins acting. He goes from confused at what's going on, then to angry, then he's scared and then he's resigned to his fate.
