trav4
The Parkway is the extension that leads from the M1 into the City centre. This system of leaving a motorway is the usual method used throughout the land. The liar [lyer:hihi:] strikes back. How many people do you think who shop in the market come off the M1 to do so?. roosterboost
How many people do you think who shop in the market come off the M1 to do so?. Clearly not enough which is one of the reasons footfall is 40,000 down on projection and folks who come off the M1 shop at Meadowhall, JTF, Makro or Costco. All of which provide free parking for the motoway traffic.

This was the one he should have asked: "How many people do you think who shopped in the OLD market came off the M1 to do so?" The answer being "not very many", same for the current Market, so god knows what the M1 has to do with it.

smiggs
Actually it adds quite a lot to the debate. If there wasn't anywhere else everyone would shop there. The reason Tesco is in trouble is their customers are shopping elsewhere. The reason the Moor Market is in trouble is their potential customers prefer to shop elsewhere. In other news the sky is blue, it gets cold in winter, and water is wet.
roosterboost
You do know the old building was a crumbling wreck, huh? A bit like Park Hill Flats then. ---------- Post added 10-12-2014 at 16:35 ---------- In other news the sky is blue, it gets cold in winter, and water is wet. And the market is failing. Don't forget to add that to your list. ---------- Post added 10-12-2014 at 16:37 ---------- Just like the old market then, yes? I do believe there was a time when the old market did offer free parking. I bet it was a lot busier then.
