RootsBooster
There's always one or two who recommend a "clairvoyant" as being "good" because they knew all about the person's children, pets and other existing details. Is it just me or does anyone else think that telling someone things that they already know, about things that have already happened, is NOT clairvoyancy? MonkeyLover
I went to see one called Ruth a couple of weeks ago. (Don't know if it's the same Ruth has mentioned previously, as not exact same location). I only went because I had a friend staying with me, and she wanted to go. I don't believe it at all. Anyway, she was rubbish! - asked me lots of questions, like "Have you got a son?" - when I said Yes, she made something up about him - which was rubbish of course. There were lots of other things too which she guessed at, mostly all wrong - cost £20!
Guest
There's always one or two who recommend a "clairvoyant" as being "good" because they knew all about the person's children, pets and other existing details. Is it just me or does anyone else think that telling someone things that they already know, about things that have already happened, is NOT clairvoyancy? Putting aside the fact that it isn't clairvoyance; it's cold reading... Clairvoyance is the ability to perceive (in this case, to view/see) something unknown to the clairvoyant without using the traditional senses; it doesn't matter that it's known to the 'sender', just that the clairvoyant has no means of perceiving the information other than by using the woo woo sense. Clairvoyance isn't necessarily about talking to the dead. The first post-titles scene in Ghostbusters, with Bill Murray and the Zener cards, is a demonstration of clairvoyance. Guest
IIRC it is an example of him trying to pull Yes indeed, but I'm sure Dr Spengler would tell you that 'clairvoyance' was what was on the grant application.

love_rat
I went to see a clairvoyant and she said "be careful, because someone today is going to rip you off" Nobody did, so she did not know everything.
