Parking in Paradise Square

Recommended Posts

Big sign in the middle of it

UNAUTHORISED USERS WILL BE CHARGED

Really?

Even if the charges were enforceable, where is the signage which indicates the terms and conditions of parking?

Tut tut, you should know better. Feel free to park your cars there during the working day, folks.

While free city centre parking is very tempting, it's private land and you have no right to park there. But, there's no excuse for lack of signage, especially if said spots are owned by people working in the legal profession.

If Mr Lawyer finds a car in his space, would he sue the driver for the time and costs he's incurred? I'd say that's more likely than the threats from the other parking companies.

Personally, I wouldn't take the risk for the sake of a few quid parking.

Such a shame that Paradise Square is blighted by cars enough as it is, it would look even worse if it had the usual amount of roadsignage plastered all over it too.

You would think that a host of law firms would know better, a black sign in the middle of the car park saying "UNAUTHORISED USERS WILL BE CHARGED" isnt going to stand up anywhere.

Then again, even if they did put up the same signs that Excel and Parking Eye did, it wouldnt make the blind bit of difference :D

No, go call the police because that is now illegal.

Depends where you were parked on there. There are some inner parking bays and some outer ones. No doubt the legitimate owners and users of the bays know which one belongs to which company.

But if you parked into the inner bay and got blocked in, the police wouldn't care.

the problem is that there isn't anywhere else in the middle to put the signs - i think there are some on the office walls around the outside, but in the middle of the square they probably wouldn't get planning consent to stick up a load more posts with signs on them

In which case you would just wait until after 5pm then :D

There are already a couple of poor quality signs on the broken lamp-post in the middle.

It all depends on whether it's private property.
