mike84 Â Â 23 #37 Posted October 1, 2012 The obvious has to be said ... I do worry if Sheffield can sustain this new Genting Casino AND Napoleons AND the casino in Queens Road all in this recession where people have no disposable cash ! Â There's another opening as well I think at the old NUM building opposite the city hall...
 Share this content via...
sjcNKOTB Â Â 10 #38 Posted October 1, 2012 All of its front windows got done around 4a.m. A guy was removed by door staff and came back a few minutes later with paving slabs and smashed about 12 panes of glass. Gaming and service was suspended and the police arrested him. Not the perfect start, I went in last night and must say it does look nice. Â Thank you for the information. I was wondering what happened when I saw the smashed windows at 7 am this morning. Not a good look indeed for a place that has opened only last Friday. Â i can see the divvy who did it being landed with a rather large bill for the glass, its a nicely finished place and the panels wont be cheap! ouch! jamesogt   11 #40 Posted October 2, 2012 There's another opening as well I think at the old NUM building opposite the city hall...  Brooke Leisure own a casino licence. (Embrace/Crystal etc)  They have banded around plans, I would be very surprised if they would take on both Genting and Rank.  Personally I think they were hoping a casino operator would buy the licence and planning permission. AFAIK the plans are on hold for the forseeable future.
 Share this content via...
aeinstein199 Â Â 10 #44 Posted October 11, 2012 Has anyone eaten there yet then? They have 2 restaurants. Â The bar was out of draught on Monday night and apparently they were short staffed so the poker room had no waitress service. Â Lets hope it is just teething problems, when I tried to order food they were out of half the things I wanted so I went to Maccy'd on the way home! jb0077   10 #47 Posted October 12, 2012 I went last night, drinks were cheap, the food is surprisingly great and yes the prices all round were good. Also free parking when using the Q-Park (Cheese grater building) I went in with my Sister (birthday treat) had a few drinks, had a meal played a few games, parked in town for a few hours had a good time and was only £10 down from when I started the night. Cheap enjoyable night. I enjoyed it and will be going again.
 Share this content via...

Cheap enjoyable night. I enjoyed it and will be going again.  Cheap? It is more than both Napoleons and Grosvenor. Genting also seem to charge considerably more for sides and bread.  http://www.gentingcasinos.co.uk/default/assets/File/BK2569_Sheffield_Drinks_12pp_AW%20(Fahrenheit)WEB.pdf  http://www.gentingcasinos.co.uk/default/assets/File/BK2569_Sheffield%20Fahrenheit%20Spring%20(Josper)%20Grill_NEW_Menu_390x260_AW04(1).pdf  The menu looks nice but I had asked for feedback before spending that kind of a money in a new restaurant.  And from their site regarding parking.... We are also able to offer free and discounted parking to guests who play at the tables or dine with us, however this is on a limited and discretionary basis.  Limited and discretionary sounds like not everyone gets it?
