Thomas Cook and flight delays

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else had flight delays with Thomas Cook? We flew with Thomas Cook for the first time on the 2nd May from Manchester airport to Turkey. We had an eight hour delay, as compensation we got a £3 voucher to spend (wow the price of a cup of coffee). Then on the way home we had an hour and half delay. We got told that Thomas Cook flights from Manchester were well known for delays, so just wondering if anyone else had delays with them.

this thread has just made me laugh! i was supposed to go to turkey on the 5th of this month with thomas cook and was delayed by a day due to a computer fault on the plane. due to this i lost a whole day off my holiday. after speaking to a few people whilst on holiday i found out that thomas cook are known for delaying flights! i will try to avoid them now!

I would think now that the summer holiday season is upon us, aircraft utilisation at airlines like Thomas Cook is going to be very high and the fact they only have a small fleet of planes, should a flight be delayed for whatever reason, it will have a knock on effect as they will have limited ability to juggle aircraft around.

I have always used Monarch to fly to turkey, never had a problem.

Was expecting a delay when we went on the 7th May (with it being our honeymoon, it was sods law)) but everything went perfectly...

Put in a claim on your travel insurance for the delays

need to be delayed 12 hours or more to make a claim

I read the other day Cooks are selling some of their planes and will then lease them back.
