SYorksDeano
08451212526. Thats as local as it gets. most docs numbers are now 0845 Doctors are now meant to be banned from using 084 numbers but it appears Sheffield NHS have done nothing to change the numbers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1213223/Whitehall-pulls-plug-GPs-costly-0845-phone-lines.html
rachgee
I would avoid wmc at all costs. Abbey lane surgery is better. The receptionists have attitude problems & Dr's aren't that much better!!!
yorkiepudd
Sheffield pct want the public to report any surgeries still using 0845 numbers
Shazbat
Ours has reinstated an 0114 number and as I understand it, they have to offer a non-geographic number as well as a peak rate number. As for attitudes of receptionists in particular, I believe it's a condition of employment that you have to be as rude and obnoxious as you possibly can
landi
never had a problem at Woodseats Medical Centre sometime I think if you have an attitude with them they will have one with you there are a couple of Dr's I personally dont like and wont see but thats my opinion
Dizzyblonde
WMC is fine if you either dont work, or can take personal phone calls at work but no appointments are pre bookable - you need to telephone triage. Nice if you work in an open plan office.

scousemouse
My Dr is 0844, I am on cable and the cost to get through is stupid. The clock starts ticking as soon as you get through, then its 'one for this two for that' it is a scandal. It is easier to go down to book an appointment, but why should I? It is a bus journey, and a fair walk to the bus stop. It is time these people thought a little more about the patients and less about the over £100.000 they make for about 3-4 work they do.
