Insight, Darnall - does anybody work for them?

I've got an interview coming up for Insight out in Darnall and I was wondering if anybody on here had ever worked for them and could you advise if they're any good to work for or not?

 

I know it's a call centre type environment so was wondering what it staff morale is like and if there is a high staff turnover as I know they're common in that type of environment.

It's less like a call centre, and more heavy sales... The interview used to include a series of mock sales calls, to gauge how strong you are at cold calling and getting a company onside over the phone... The rewards are great for those who are really great at telesales, and the door is there for those who can't manage it... It's hard work, but worth it if you are good and get the bonuses!

Insight is at Attercliffe not Darnall !

 

The moral on the sales floor is usually very high ! Infact the same can be said accross the whole office.

Staff turnover must be high, i've had about 15 "account managers" in the last 6 years.

There are many reasons you may have had "15 account managers" people don't always leave, Insight do internally promote as well as a lot of account managers move into support, technical and specialist roles aswell.

 

It could also be for many other reasons you have been unfortunate enough to have many account managers.

 

Turnover can't be that high as Insight has won investors in people awards for it's low turnover and it's apprentice schemes - we have employed them all with a new batch starting very soon !

 

Call your current account manager and ask the reason why you keep getting passed around if you are concerned - Ask to be given to a tenured rep !

Jeeessh, I buy one small printer part for less than a tenner six years ago, and now they won't leave me alone despite me repeatedly telling them to.

Not really bothered, Probrand are cheaper.

That's why you've had 15 account managers then - You buy on price !! Insight account managers are there to help you through projects - We don't pay them a wage to take orders. If your looking for a solution I can guarantee they will manage the process better than Probrand.

It's called service - once a customer of yours has bought somthing do you then ignore them ? If we had never called you I guess you'd have written " I bought a small printer part 6 years ago and they never called again"

 

I assume the part solved all your problems hence why you've never required anything else.

What if he doesn't require your service any longer? quisquose clearly states he has asked not to be bothered yet it continues.

In the case of a printer part costing less then £10, yes. If he wasn't being harassed he probably wouldn't have said anything at all :)

The attitude of of razorsharp says it all tbh. If your wanting cheap then we are not interested so we will pass you onto one of our new recruits who are there for the sake of it.

Explain why there are porsches etc on your carpark from sales people? Obviously you are earning a lot in commsion, so you squeeze the higher margines and fob your loyal customers who are looking for good deals to account managers that dont care.. Nice, not.

In all fairness, theres a lot of competition so if you shop arond there is always someone better han you for less... To make a statement you are better than another company is crazy!!! Good luck and hopfully someone higher up doesnt see this or screen shot and sends it to proband! Crazy and foolish imo

 

Just to add: You claim that due to many people moving around in the company accounts for large amount of account managers. Truth be told, the people who are succesful are individuals that took advantage 'back in the day', and one or two of you fell lucky with large schemes. However, for new recruits currently, it is very hard to break in due to saturation within the market as it's all about building up your clientele. I know of a fair few people who have come and gone within months of working within the company.

It's called peeing me off - I needed a part, I searched, I ordered. It was a one off. Now every two months I'm cold called, and everytime I ask them not to call me again ... but two months later ... :roll:

 

I really wish I had ordered from the next name that Google threw up, and kept my details off this company's database.
