Is there a "get rid of your coins" machine in city centre?

Recommended Posts

I'm sinking in a sea of 1p's and 2p's. Never spend them, they just end up getting chucked in biscuit tins and jars. Nearly threw them in the bin last night, but seems a bit of a waste. Probably got about £50 worth. I remember a machine in meadowhall years ago, in sainsburys i think it was, chuck your coins in and get money to spend minus 2% or whatever it was.

the coin counting machines in shops are a right rip off. Get some bags from the bank and bag em and pay em in. Nowt much else to do on these cowd winter nieghts.

I dont think they take that much, I did it at Sainsbury's and it charged about £3 (which I think was donated to charity).

Better than spending a couple of hours counting grimy coppers and lugging them to the bank.
