skippy_54 Â Â 10 #409 Posted December 13, 2009 The bible was not a work of fiction,it was a book of rules that were sensible in their day and It was a history book. But through missinterpritation, misstranslation and the addition of a science fiction chapter at the end it has no relevence in this day and age. Halibut   12 #411 Posted December 13, 2009 You like calling people names who dont agree wtih you. You do it a lot. Maybe you need help.  Do you not agree that someone proposing banning the freedom to practise your faith is naive and stupid in thinking that there wouldn't be a huge popular protest and widespread civil disobedience if such a law were ever imposed?  It would make the poll tax protests look tame. Halibut   12 #413 Posted December 13, 2009 : I would agree, but without the name calling.  How would you describe the belief that one could ban religion without there being massive unrest and civil disobedience?
 Share this content via...
jobee   10 #414 Posted December 13, 2009 If you were to ignore the protestors presumably you would also ignore anyone who chose to practise their faith in the way they see fit; in that case why all this talk of a ban? What would be the point of a law proclaiming the bible a work of fiction?  What would you do with people who broke the law?  You really haven't thought this through have you?  I said 'organised'' religion. telling lies and pimping off the gullible . What people do in the privacy of their home is their business.  Have you read the thread? we have already covered this. jobee   10 #419 Posted December 13, 2009 So how would you cope with mass civil disobedience? How much force would you be prepared to exert in trying to impose the ban?  I know for sure they would get no help from their goddy boy. Halibut   12 #420 Posted December 13, 2009 I know for sure they would get no help from their goddy boy.  That's a pretty lame answer if you're expecting anyone to take you seriously. How would you enforce the law? What would be the penalty for disobeying the law?
 Share this content via...
