epiphany   10 #13 Posted May 5, 2009 Definitely not ,as I only wear moisturiser and lipstick during a normal day. But on an evening out, I can transform my face into something far more glamorous than my own everday looks.  Ooh do you have before and after pics? KTHFB Â Â 10 #14 Posted May 5, 2009 Well it's understandable if one of the reasons is to fit in. One way to tell I suppose is to imagine if 90% of women took part in a "no makeup day", would you suddenly feel this huge weight off your... face? Â Would you yourself go in for a no shave and hair gel day?
 Share this content via...

One way to tell I suppose is to imagine if 90% of women took part in a "no makeup day", would you suddenly feel this huge weight off your... face?  Well no, because like I said earlier I don't tend to wear make-up unless I'm going out, most of my friends are quite glamorous and wear make-up all the time, I don't feel the need to keep up with them by wearing it all the time, it's just when I go out. epiphany   10 #19 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) Would you yourself go in for a no shave and hair gel day?  Styling hair does not cover anything up. Shaving reveals the face, but I keep it rough... mainly because I can't be arsed to shave and I'm not exactly at risk of growing something Karl Marx would be proud of.  Anyway - we're talking about makeup here. We all tidy our hair and shave, but makeup is something entirely different Edited May 5, 2009 by epiphany
 Share this content via...
Alien   10 #20 Posted May 5, 2009 For ourselves and other people.  Is "ourselves" and "others" synonymous? Or do you see them as separate?  An example. Would women...and even some men I suppose, wear makeup if they all of a sudden became the only human on the planet?  I also observed in the 80's that men wore makeup a lot...why did that fizzle out? As I remember women at that time found it quite attractive in men.
 Share this content via...

Not a lot of make-up does though either. If someone were only wearing mascara (as I do), it's just to emphasise what they already have.  Probably a bad comparison really, but men doing their hair to me is the same as me putting on my mascara.  If I wore a full face of slap each day then I'd probably think differently, but I don't, so err don't....
 Share this content via...

I suppose this thread was more questioning those women who do sllllllllap.  I assume the aim is not for people to go "oh look they're wearing face paint" but rather "wow she has beautiful eyes". But are they only beautiful because they've been made all large and mesmorising by the mascara/eye makeup?
 Share this content via...
