RidingRob #614 Posted March 5, 2012 There was a recent article about this on NowThen Magazine. Check the online version. My money's on Hagg Hill but the steepest one within 2 miles of the centre is Blake Street IMO
 Share this content via...
jgharston #615 Posted March 5, 2012 Hagg Hill (not old Sheffield) gradient 17.1%.Which Hagg Hill? The one that runs down from Crosspool to Rivelin Valley Road? That's always been in Sheffield, the original Sheffield boundary was the River Rivelin. See here.
 Share this content via...

Darkoak #618 Posted March 5, 2012 Is hagg hill steeper than lodge lane? I've had the 'pleasure' of running up both of them quite recently and would say that the first stretch of Hagg Hill from Rivelin Valley Road is steeper than the similar stretch of Lodge Lane from the A57, but after their first right hand bends, then Lodge Lane is marginally the steeper. (Equally as knackered at the top of both, mind you!).
 Share this content via...

Tomm06 #623 Posted March 6, 2012 Next to the nursing home on Heeley there is a junction that is very very steep, but it's only about 100 yards of road, does that count? I bet a lot of gearboxes have been left behind on there though.
 Share this content via...
