New England manager Fabio Capello is the subject of a tax investigation in Italy - but the Football Association is confident he will not face any charges.

We lost Venables for non-footballing reasons when he was on the verge of making us a winning team. (We actually won a penalty shoot-out, remember?) Don't tell me it'll happen again.

Everyone's being invested for tax in Italy, just as British footballers all have drinking problems and speeding bans and French politicians have extramarital affairs and illegitimate children.

 

It's part of their national culture. It's just a formality, don't worry, I'm confident all charges will shortly be dropped
