Chinese Sky Lanterns/Strange lights in the sky megathread

Recommended Posts

Is there anywhere in Sheffield where I can buy these? The ones you light outdoors and let them float off into the sky?

Cheers for this, found them here:

quick question though, are they not a danger if they suddenly fell from the sky if something hit them etc....????

Hi there

Mr and my Fiancee set two Chinese Lanterns off outside last night at around 7PM near the Vine.... did anyone see them!

Anyway, as they flew off we were left pondering...does anyone know the following...

How high do they reach?

How far do they travel?

I know its dependant on wind etc, (must have been about 5-10mph last night) but we dont know how long they stay alight for!

Cheers

G
