  1. I've lived here for 6 years now and rarely use Hillsborough shops, would like to use more but just not enough of what I want. I do use the pet shop, funks, DP's and home bargains...these are my regulars. There are too many estate agents and recently too many coffee shops/cake shops!! Cupcake overload. There must be 5 now at least!! I'd like to see an m&s food, a sainsburys local, roses the bakers and some more decent clothes shops...river island, oasis etc. Also just a general tidy up, planters etc would improve the area.
  2. Hi, can anyone provide any updates on what shops are confirmed for here. I'm excited at the prospect of some good shops this end of town and would be even more excited if someone uttered the words M&S food!!! :0) thanks x
  3. Hi, Are you selling them individually? i'd be interested in a 2/3 how much are you selling them for? thanks x
  4. Agreed, my friend used to live in the lodge on the bridge and as children we'd go to play. Her parents would take us home at night and it was sooooo scary driving across the bridge back!
  5. Ohhhh can you expand on this please, sounds fascinating. Why are the above spooky! Especially Boots, not heard about that.... x
  6. My all time favourite programme on TV, so pleased it's back. Monday nights with Tom Ward happy happy happy! x
  7. I use PetMeds and also go through Quidco for cashback x I also get frontline from there too x
  8. Went to watch 127 hours last night - brilliant film. 9/10 Animals United 8/10 perfect for kids Narnia - 9/10 loved it Harry Potter - 6/10 far too dark for me, lost interest. Buried - 7/10 purely as it stars Ryan Renyolds! :0 )
  9. Thank you, veiola never questioned it and streetforce wouldn't deal with it?! Hmmmmmm!! x
  10. Streetforce told me to phone veiola who are indeed dealing with gritting and have added our road to the list! Think we are 642!!!
  11. Yes you are right. It isnt residents as we know how bad it is, 90% cars havent moved. Its works vans and traffic driving down (ie dont live here.how do i know? As i csn see where the cars come from as its one way. They arnt wynyard cars as 'sad' as that sounds!) yesterdays accidents were caused by a transit and a taxi driving way too fast. Then late last night a stupid man in an old corsa drove up the road ignoring the one way sign! Got stuck and reversed ALL the way back down narrowly missing all our parked cars! like someone said above far lane and dykes hall are clear....drive round it might take you 2 whole minutes more!!!
  12. Coming back on the tram tonight a few priority were free and no-one sat in them, made me smile, maybe they read this thread! i like old fashioned values and wish we were less selfish as a country. Less barging, more waiting, prioritising, less me me me! The world would be such a nicer place to be! x
  13. I have done just that. Knocked on a few doors and between us we have cleared 2/3 of wynyard:) community spirit isnt dead! Still very icy though. i wouldnt mind as much if we had a grit bin if the gritters cant get but we havent, would gladly grit ourselves if we could! A neighbour requested they dump us some at the top of the road snd we'll do it ourselves!
  14. Exactly! but they are still drivknh down and skidding! No gritters in sight, ive rung veiola again and its a waste of time!!
  15. Make me sick some people attitudes!!, yes i totally agree that not all disabilities are visable, in the same way the not all are phyisical. BUT if you are able then you should get up and the the elderly sit down!! simple its not hard its just plain well mannered. Thankful I am not alone! xx
  16. I've never known it as bad! It's a death trap and in 6 years of being here have never seen cars just skidding down and hitting parked cars! a few of us have closed the road but it won't be long until some annoying children move them! I feel sorry for the owner who got hit, the whole back end is a mess and shunted 2 cars infront. I did phone 2202020 but they wernt interested and said all roads are the same but will pass it on!! We need a grit bin on this road at the very least! x
  17. That's exactly the attitude I'm talking about! Selfish! I don't care wether I've paid or not I couldn't sit there and watch an elderly person cling on for dear life, maybe it's there's not many of us left with old fashioned values we need to care about each other more.
  18. The priority seating is for disabled/elderly so yes phrased wrongly. I'm sure you will agree with me that apart from exceptions ie you the majority who sit there do not need it more than who irbid intended for! It's not me you should be annoyed with! It's the selfish people who these days Think they are as entitled as those less able! Not right. "I've paid for a fair" is just not good enough and I wish it was more enforcable!
  19. I'm a disability nurse so who's presuming now!? And why is this about you?! You've proved your entitled to sit there, point made....you and I both know 90% don't need it as much as an elderly/disabled person!
  20. Question- would you continue to sit and have an elderly person stand next to you? I certainly couldn't do it and will continue to offer my seat, maybe I'm the minority.
  21. I understand your point but I'm talking about elderly frail with sticks....they should not be standing for anyone. They deserve that seat morevyhsn anyone else on the tram IMO middle aged sitting there is more of a debate but youngsters/students should be made to give up their seats, ESp in prioity areas.
  22. Your welcome! unintentional is even better! Ps if anyone knows how to turn predictive text/spelling off the iPhone I'd be greatful so there are no more fritters!!
  23. I'm a car driver so rarely use public transport to and from work but since the snow fell had no choice so for the past week I've been on the tram. I've noticed the priority seats for disabled/elderly and the fact that anyone sits in them. Every tram i've been on has be standing full with elderly standing and young people/ able adults sitting. Now...when I was a kid we always gave our sears up to the elder generation or less able (I'm only 33 so it's not that long ago) it was instilled In to us by mum. I've not seen this happen once this week and it's really niggled me, I have given up my seat to an elderly gentleman and people looked at me gone out! It wasn't even a priority seat. So do people obide by this or take no notice?? Should it be enforced more by the conductors and people asked to move if elderly are standing. It just doesn't sit right with me! :0(
  24. They'd be foolish to drive down these roads tbh so I can't blame them, the council should be gritting. We have 2 cars tonight with £££ damage due to bring crashed into. I'm terms of risk and safety blue bins being empties arnt important IMO? X
  25. The council have requested a temp road closure and have agreed so I presume they'll ask the police? x
