  1. The Avenue, just off West Street at the top of Fitzwilliam Street. All the staff are fantastic cutters and I have never come away disappointed. Give it a try, you wont regret it.
  2. All sorted, money refunded and an investigation under way as to how they got hold of my details. I am assured a block has been put on my account if they try to take any more money out, and the police will be informed apparently if it can be proved it was taken fraudulently. Overall I am happy with the result, I will definitely check my online account every day from now on, just to make sure nothing else goes out. Thanks for all your help.
  3. Yes I thought they would have sorted it out on the phone, but the lady seemed to have trouble understanding me and vice-versa. She didnt offer to get my money back for me at all, just gave me a telephone number to contact which proved to be in the USA and I am not paying to ring over there.
  4. Thank you for all your helpful comments, I haven't been able to ring tonight as I have had to go out, but I will be down there first thing in the morning to sort it out. I do buy things online so it might be something to do with that. I will let you know what happens.
  5. Thank you Solitaire that is very reassuring. I will go down tomorrow, perhaps they cant fob me off when I am face to face with them.
  6. No there is no one else that could have got my card. I think I will go in to the branch tomorrow and see them, see if they can get me my money back.
  7. Yes I did that and it came up with some very dodgy things, mostly of an adult nature. The bank have said they will put a block on any more transactions but I just want to know how they have got my details
  8. I wonder if anyone can help me. I checked my on line bank account today and found that 2 sums of money have been taken out with a £1.50 overseas charge added on as well. It says that my debit card was used. I rang my bank and they told me that it was an adult site and that I had subscribed to it monthly and it would be taken out each month. I told them I haven't done any such thing and could they tell me who it was. They gave me a telephone number but it is an american number and there is no code on it. How have they got my details, and how can I get my money back? I am extremely worried now as I dont know how they have got my details. Any advice on what I can do would be appreciated.

  10. Does anyone know if this pub that was on Neepsend was called anything else before The Farfield. I know it was called the Owl afterwards, but has it always been called the Farfield?
  11. The Last Time by the Rolling Stones. Brilliant.
  12. I shop in the market at least once a week and always find the quality of the fruit and veg to be spot on. Its much cheaper than the supermarkets and lovely and fresh. The fish is lovely too with lots of choice and the staff on the stall where I go are lovely, they always have a laugh with their customers and a friendly word. I agree it is ready to be demolished which is why I cant wait for the new one to be finished.
  13. There is a fair at the bottom of Granville Road, its coming from there.
  14. I would rather stick pins in my eyes than step foot in that disgusting place.
  15. I think it was called "Pippy's". used to get my stuff there as well, Brilliant shop
  16. There are a few stalls in the castle market that sell all those types of things. In fact some of the things on the Caribbean stalls I have never even heard of, I think you will get everything in there.
  17. Oh I hope your'e joking choogling, I cant give it you back.
  18. A song I heard today for the 1st time in years was "I'm gonna miss you" by the Artistics. It just reminds me of being young and listening to all that fantastic music that was around at that time. I have downloaded it and now have it on my Ipod and I have played it loads of times already. I unfortunately acquired it originally from a guy who had it at a party on Ecclesall Rd and I begged him to lend it to me and promised to return it to him next time I saw him. I never did and have always felt guilty about how I got it. Mind you I haven't got a clue what happened to it, probably got lost in the 12 house moves I have made since then!! Happy days
  19. I used to pass this house every day and think what a great house it was. That was back in the 60's when I used to ride my bike all the time around Stannington and rivelin.
  20. Well I totally disagree Gym rat, we did absolutely nothing to our neighbours, they made our lives a misery from the very 1st day we moved in to our house, slinging insults at us and making life as difficult as possible. I stood it for 2 years and then put the house up for sale. All the other neighbours told us that they hoped we would be the ones to stick it out as they had seen off quite a few previous neighbours with their actions. Some people are just after trouble all the time and this family were just like that, they were quite old as well, age is no excuse.
  21. The walk in centre on broad lane do ear syringing. I dont know what the waiting time will be, but if you are desperate it might be worth a visit.
  22. Yes I knew Mick Grudge and his brother Trevor. My husband used to live a few doors away from them on shoreham Street in the 60's when they first came to England. I didn't know he was a sax player though as we lost touch as the years went by.
  23. Wow lucky you, I would love to have met them. Never mind I still play their music and re live my youth!!
