That's cool - we agree to take a certain amount. Do they make their own way here or do they arrive at various European countries and then later on get dispersed?

I am not heartless as I donate a bit each month to worthwhile causes. I don't hate people and wish no-one any harm. However in my simple logical world they are not asylum seekers. Tony and Plain Talker answer me why do they come to Britain? I would say it is because of the NHS, Benefits system and housing allowances to name a few.

There is no such thing as an Asylum Seeker in Britain. We are not landlocked and as far as I'm aware there are no wars in neighbouring countries. Therefore why are they here? If you are running away from something you run to the nearest safe place. Not travel half way round the world and across the sea to a small island in northern Europe. Hmmmmmmm They are economic migrants who want a better life. Nothing wrong with that. But most of them have trouble speaking English and can only spell their names when signing for their giros. I agree 100% that anyone with a job offer should be allowed to enter. Anyone else claiming Ayslum should be refused or left in France.

People come to this country and settle. More people in this country equals money to be made. When you want to make money you don't upset the people who are going to hand it over. Thus newspapers will not intentionally upset minorities as they will stop buying their papers. The BBC especially and the media will always stick up for minorities because if they did upset a group in particular, less people would pay the license. The government try not to upset minorities because they can lose votes. Councils will do the same incase of civil unrest. It's got to the point now where average Joe in the street will not even raise their voice now at someone from a minority group as they are in fear of being branded a racist. This is wrong. ESPECIALLY where the police are involved. There are rapists,thugs, tramps, pimps, addicts etc in every group of people I know in Britain and none of us are perfect. But the majority of people must NOT be branded racist for speaking up against anyone who shouts abuse or does anything to harm you or your friends. If you attack someone then you should be dealt with EXACTLY the same as anyone else. The police should realise this. PC is all about keeping the calm and trying to make the majority working class population get rid of old stereotypical ideals and talking down to them. If the streets are calm then the rulers can make money. Simple. Anyone or anything that rocks this process will be branded as racist. What they don't realise is that the majority of this country have had enough of it and any increase in the PC approach will only divide further. Get rid of the PC and use commonsense and you would sort out this anger felt by alot of people. Your thoughts?

Do it and be proud it's not racist. You're not harming anyone. If you start giving out verbal abuse to any minorities then you deserve and would probably get a kicking. If you are scared then that's a shame and something must be done. Fly the flag dude.

Don't let people wind you up. You will see a change in this country over the coming few years. People are flag waving as it makes them feel proud and together as a nation. People are starting to stand up to the PC brainwashed nonces. Don't listen to ANYONE who tells you not to fly your flag. I was recently in Europe and the Germans are proud to do it, the French are proud to do it and so are the ENGLISH. The politicians are waking up to this fact and that to start calling people racists so easily from now on will not wash as the last local election results showed that. Since those results Mr Blair came out and said we should all be proud of flying the flag. Even Cameron had his little flag on his bike. Who knows? Even Christmas might make a return and not some other PC name. If England win the world cup you'll see people on the streets showing their feelings for this great country. It's the people who run this country, not the politicians. Here's hoping.

Spot On. And what about handle bars on bikes? They stick out. What about horses tails? You could overtake a horse on a pushbike and it could either c r a p on you or flick it's tail which could result in some rather nasty tail whipping! What about Milk floats? They could drop milk everywhere on a bumpy road. You don't go on about them? These flags are a sign of people coming together for a change, this can only be good.

This post makes me laugh. If we knew anything then we wouldn't need the chopper. The chopper is probably flying over this area to do it's job. i.e. Gather information or track people down. Now without a HF radio set and the prior authorisation by the local plod how on earth would anyone know what it's there for? Perhaps Donuts are 2 for 1 at the Garage and the chopper wanted to get there first before "All units" got there first. I dunno. Wake me up

I called 999 and asked them to come and check my new patio on Granville Rd. Keith who is the pilot reckons it is ok but he could've got his mate Malcolm to do it for £400 less than I paid. Terry the co-pilot says I should cut my grass. He's probably right. Hope that clears up your interest in today's flight of the copperchopper.

Depends really on where you stay. Myself and 'er indoors stayed at a nice quiet hotel in early June a few years back and it was great. Giannis is the best restaurant in the town for Greek cuisine. There are obviously some people there slightly tipsy without much in the way of cerebrum cells but they can be ignored. Loads of families there too. Watch out for the Greek army camp though not far away. They don't like people with cameras as they are always on a state of alert with Turkey in case they invade. Unless that happens you should have fun!! Also try the local slovaki. It's like a small kebab but with pork and red onion. Reight nice Enjoy

I can't wait!!! I too had this on the original playstation and my god was it weird. I have played the other 3 as well and they too were weird. Have you seen the trailer yet? I found "The Making Of Silent Hill" the movie on a message board and I couldn't help watch it and it doesn't give the story away but the actors/actresses comment on how great it is. I'm off to watch it next Friday 21st at the pictures.

I used to love watching the carnival back in the early 80s. I remember the girls walking along twiddling their drumsticks while the boys at the back kept a beat going. Majorettes I think they were called. Do they still have the Frecheville beauty queen on the back of one of the floats?

We are supposed to enjoy freedom of speech in the UK. Is it time for the politically correct people to keep quiet on important issues and let the nation make their own minds up once the facts have been presented? This is in response to the story of the book by Anthony Browne, "The Retreat of Reason" which has been in the news today. Just curious. What do the good people of Sheffield think?
