  1. Could do with the Zepelin to fly over wincobank now and drop a few bombs. The parked cars in that area are a real nusaince when your trying to get to Meadowhall
  2. After visiting family and of course my nieces and nephews, I was quite shocked at how grown up the 7 year old was. She had nail varnish, bit of make up on and was watching hannah montanah on the TV. I then showed her some clips from the 1970s/1980s of the sort of things 7 year olds did then (on you tube). I showed her Rainbow with Zippy and George, Agadoo song, Hokey Cokey, a clip of a spectrum computer game - matchday 2 and Philip Schofield with Gordon the Gopher. She laughed and said "there all wierdos" Are children growing up too fast, enjoyable passtimes such as BMX biking, doing the hokey cokey seem very odd to your modern 7 year olds, who is often watching teen shows and wearing make up. IN my minds, kids in the 70s/80s were allowed to be children until much older, whereas modern kids seem to become growns up so young
  3. After yet another inflation busting increase to my car insurance (60%), this is becoming a real issue. Apparently, my insurance has gone up due to the claims that were made at the start of 2010 with all the accidents caused by the cold snap. I pointed out that I didn't have an accident, yet the man on the phone said all car insurance has increased. ALso, due to the amount of uninsured drivers, I have to pay more to cover them:rant: WHY ????? why do I have to pay for these people, and why do I have to pay more because of idiots who can't drive in cold weather? Also because of car crime in my area, my insurance has gone up. At what point do thw law abiding continue to accept being treat like this? how much of your after tax income are you prepared to spend on car insurance? will you get to a point where you will simply drive uninsured? Before people squeal "ITS THE LAW!!! " lets look at it this way. In my case, I have driven for 19 years, and I have paid on average £500 per year in car insurance. (£765 this years quote). £500 x 19 years = £9500 !!!! I've never claimed, so how the hell can this cost be justified. Would you as a law abiding person, have to seriously look at your outgoings and decide which ones you are going to discard? at the end of the day, the weather has again been cold due to snow, so no doubt my car insurance will rocket next year. BUt there is only so much a person can pay. In the past 19 years, I have never been stopped by a Policeman as I never commit car driving offences such as speeding, I drive an average car so don't attract attention. So the law of averages on the way I drive and the fact I never have claimed, perhaps next year I will seriously consider become like the increasing number of uninsured drivers - and save myself some cash Will you do the same? or are you prepared to pay ever more of your net income to something that is nothing more than legalised theft?
  4. Why not blame the dog? If the dog chooses to live in our society then - when in Rome, do as the Romans do etc.... Owners cannot always be responsible for the actions of a dog, in the same way my budgie is not responsible for the actions I take
  5. Look at the two bits I've highlighted, and thats the root of your problem. Your getting old
  6. 1) based on the standard of players they have now 2) based on the amount of managers utd have had recently YES
  7. Do you think this new bloke stands a chance?
  8. Car Insurance is a joke, mine went up because of all the claims (made by others - not me) due to the icy conditions at the start of 2010. I didn't claim so why did I have to pay. I also have to pay extra because of all the uninsured drivers. Its getting to the point where I'm considering "why should I pay for insurance?" after all I not claimed ever and I been driving for 18 years. If I was an 18 year old, I would drive without insurance due to the cost. £3000 to insure a small car? thats downright offensive. Insurance is based in what kids do for work? perhaps these working kids should do what so many others do - not bother working, live of everyone elses taxes .
  9. Can you remind me how many Managers Utd have had since the start of the season? You can change the manager all you want, but if they players Utd have got are garbage (which they are - look at the league table), then you can have a manager every month, nothing will change. Hence why I said, he will be sacked in March
  10. Fat lot of good this one will do - I predict he will be sacked by March
  11. A friend of mine is a bus driver and to be fair he does have to deal with the dregs of society for 8 hours a day. I had the misfortune of having to use a bus when I was snowed in, and to describe the creatures/pond life would have been an insult to the animals who live near ponds. I remember in the 70s/80s when going by bus was a pleasant experience, not today with the 'swearing appreciation society' or members of the 'campaining to ban baths/showers/soap' who use the service everyday. This does not include the people who want to use their free bus passes AFTER the expirey time
  12. It seems the new 'poverty' is to be in work, especially those on the minimum wage. Two of my friends have returned to the jobs market and habe found the loss of money to be a real struggle. They doubt very much if they will be able to have a holiday this year. As we have concession/free passes for OAPs, students and the unemployed. Is it now not time to offer discounts to people who are in work, as a means of helping them pay their way?
  13. Petrol has gone up in recent days in with the VAT increase in January it will go up by another 2.5%, so at current prices of 1.25p per litre, that should add about another 4p to a litre + a couple of pence extra............so we should expect prices to be around 1.33p by the 2nd week in Jan. But how high does petrol have to go? do you communte to work, will you soon have to ask your boss for extra cash to pay the petrol? or are you self employed and use petrol as an expense/a way to fiddle your taxes, if so petrol increases are a good thing. Take part in the poll
  14. We are currently in the league that you (Blades/Blunts) will find yourself in next season. Whereas, we will be in the Championship as we make our way back to the big time
  15. Face it Blades your c*ap. The sooner you accept that the better. Give it 3 or 4 years and the blades will back in their rightfull place, as the also rans of Sheffield Football, playing 2nd fiddle to their more respected neighbours in S6
  16. I guess people would move if they were able to afford to do so. Being taxed upto the eyeballs makes it difficult for people to move, especially if they are on low wages. Hard to build up savings
  17. As I said on a previous thread, if the neighbour is on benefits... 1) give them a warning - so they have a chance to change their behavior 2) stop their benefits for 3 days - as a little warning 3) if this fails, stop their benefits for 6 months. I wonder how tough these wannabe hard men are when they have no money
  18. What happens when someone is unable to pay their mortgage. A hard working person is kept up untill all hours of the night, is then off sick and then loses their job due to the actions of their neighbour?
  19. As I said on post 11, its much easier to hurt someone else who works. You disrupt their sleeping patterns when they need to rest. This option is not available to someone who does not work as they can catch up on sleep whenever they need to rest
  20. I did suggest a solution - stop their money. If people are being kept awake, by people who don't work then simply hit them where it hurts - no money. Noise problems are different when you are dealing with a neighbour who also works. YOu simply make noise when that neighbour is wanting to rest. With someone who does not work, unless you target their benefits you will never win
  21. I suppose if they broke into your home, you would then have the perfect excuse to use a baseball bat to sort your neighbours out "sorry police officer, I thought it was a burglar"
  22. OK, before people scream "an attack on benefit claimants/what about their rights" etc.... I know not all anti social behavior is caused by people on benefits, however drunken and late night noise and drunken behavior is often caused by people who don't have to 'get up and do a days work'. The people create massive problems for their neighbours who 'do have to get out of bed for work', NOw quite often, these people are given ASBOs and never ending warnings by the police, and these smug layabout simply **** a snoot at the law, and make their neighbours lives hell. Here is my solution to anti social behavior caused by people on benefits 1) A warning - give them a chance to change 2) If this fails - stop their benefit for 3 weeks. This should rattle their cage. 3) If this fails again - Stop their money for 6 months. You can bet your bottom dollar these anti social tennents would soon get a job, and as they would then have a job to get up for, they would no longer need to be making a noise until 3am in the morning. Draconian??? yes it is, however its time rough justice was metered out to those who deserve it
  23. Flu and cold are two very different illnesses Cold - Bad cold, sore throat, runny nose and headache Flu - One day of severe diohear, one day of a severe headache, 5 days of severe vomiting and at least 2 weeks to recover
  24. Many people don't get paid if they don't come into work, plus if you have too many sick days off it doesn't look good when the next round of redundancys come round. So I guess its better to invect other people. NOt the best answer, but sadly true.
